Wasn’t that your line at Lindsay’s all those years ago? Whom’s in my ****? Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
Omg. I remember when it was released. I loved the look. The colour was fabulous, except for the wheels. They looked awful. If I remember correctly, it was less than 200bhp? A rich bogan customer of mine at the time, bought one. I was in awe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The blue VK was my favourite, from a looks perspective. The red VL was nice but would have been much nicer with the Calais front end. VN on looked rubbish.
The VL Grp A ss was my favourite. Then the blue meanie, then the original HDT group c homologators, the. The walkinshaw. In truth, they were all complete rubbish, but compared to what I could afford at the time, they were marvellous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had a VK Group 3, white with the blue sheel seat interior, 4 speed manual. Bought it around 86, sold it when I bought the glass GTB as too expensive running two v8’s. Replaced it with a new Laser 4WD turbo, that was a fun little daily! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I did a few laps in one around Winton. I liked it until then. It was just another barge, as it turned out.
The best of all those Commodores was the 1st a HDT VC, race friend had one new , black, gold Simmons wheels with a 350 crank, great tow car with the Hydro 400 gearbox. PP do you remember the one VC that did FCA lap sprints with the webers?

Says Ex USA then to Surrey 1988,doesn't say Aussie anywhere. https://www.merlin.ie/i_folder/69D120020/Vehicle.pdf
I'm just curious. I thought it may have gone from Aus to US then to UK, but probably went from UK to US and back again.
but in any case, I would love this in my garage. https://www.justcars.com.au/cars-for-sale/1986-jaguar-xj13r-5-sp-manual-2d-roadster/JCFD5061793
Jeez if that's the same John Conroy who used to have an 'interesting cars' yard at Albion last century, it's a blast from the past! What is it with all you guys going gaga for Pommy wheels all of a sudden?
Well it's obviously something you'll never 'get' Y'know there's a lot more out there than Italian, irrespective of your point of view. ...and Col's MGB is about as bad an example of a Pommy car (MGB's specifically that is) that you can find,THE most underwhelming performance per noiselevel of any sportscar. No wonder the Datto 240Z did so well...in fact the Japs and a couple of Yank cars started taking off mega from there leaving the Pom's licking their wounds from then on..their mainstream.sports car industry pretty much failed after about '75 ish. True I'm still getting to 'love' the E and perhaps I won't ,same goes for the convertible/roadster/spider/spyder,softop coming in the next week or so. ....but I'm willing to give 'em a shot 'cos the Italians of a similar performance level is now pretty much out of reach for a pauper like me!
Walky was cool, great engine but they had difficulty selling the last few hundred as the VN has been released. I regret not buying one in the later 90's when they were quite cheap.
You have to put it in the context of the period. They were very divisive when released. Improved massively with nostalgia IMO and nothing else in this country to really compare them to.
