Well IMO I'm not wrong on the R compound tyres, I've had them on at least 6 cars without issue, Tassie trips numerous times in the wet & many other drives that turned wet, how many cars have you had R tyres on... anyway you have your opinion & I have mine & yes I disagree with you on this...
I agree with everything you said apart from the risk involved in the wet. I love being underestimated. I've driven on Rs many many times over the years that I was a track junkie. I can remember driving home from PI one day and thinking "wow...the road looks pretty shiny with that rain on it. I wonder if it's slippery". I moved the wheel left and right and the car went straight. That was enough for me. As awesome as the Rs are in the dry and I would use them any day on a day run, I wouldn't risk it on a week long run. In weather like we had on the last GAD, it would have been suicide IMO. Things were treacherous enough as it was, as you well know.
