Hmmmm, well you've thrown one up that was probably in the wings......and will be open for all manner of conjection.

I personally think it's a $100K plus car,due to the amount of engineering prowess involved.

There will be an amount of "local" interest,re the builders'qualifications(I don't mean "actual",University type,)but more enthusiast and his historical type.

    I would love to have a crack at it(...and may well do...)due to it's "local",Aussie,and important..Ferrari influence.
    I see this car as something,made out of nothing...into a work of,not love,so much,as a work of usable art.

I'd thrash the F*&k out of it on the next GG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    IM .02c Opinion...

DOH....I see who has put this up....Greg,you know this thing is a $200K plus car....

I'd be surpised if it makes the estimate, while it's very well executed it would appeal to very few people, like you say its a hotrod type car, but not in the traditional sense.
Overhearing the comments when it was at AutoItalia in 2011 and 2014, most people ( even modern Ferrari owners ) think its a "real" Ferrari....

I think you're getting warmer with price. IMO the difficulty in putting a value on this car is that in effect you will be buying someone else's dream. It's a bitsa that has been very well executed and resulted in a beautiful car but at the end of the day, what is it? A Superaustralia?

I'd love to have it and I'm sure it'd be loads of fun but I'd hesitate to pull the trigger even at $100k for something which will probably be salesproof in years to come once the memory of the bloke who built it fades

    A mate,up here,is starting to look for a carby 308 GTB/GTS or a QV, around $60-70.
    He has a small collection of early Holden's,in superior condition,a 1974 Beetle,daily driver..pristine and a bloody awful '90's Porker 911 convertible.
I suggested the above typo's,ahead of the 308i's,328 and 348,all of which he had mentioned.

    Any suggestions will be forwarded.
Maybe the $121K bloke may come to the party.

Cheapest 308 GTS is 90K on carsales, there was another one there yesterday for less that's no longer listed.
I think at the 60 -70K mark he will get a GTBi or a GTSi, or a rough carb GTS/GTB. He could get a very nice GT4 for 60-70K.

That speedo has got to have been tampered with? Or is that just how older speedo's are as it reaches towards a significant rollover?

odometers became digital from 360/575 on. The mileage is stored in a chip and in theory harder to tamper with, but a quick google search will locate the software that does it and I daresay the copy diagnostic computers that are available would have the capability too.

You can only adjust the mileage once by 500km or so with the diagnostic computer (from memory) and then the ECU locks. That's my recollection from reading the 360 workshop manual years ago. No doubt someone has found a way around it by now if you are so inclined.

    That's correct.
Mileage is stored in the gearbox TCU as well.
