Too much of a pain in the arse driving an S2K on this course so I've been having some fun. Try the AMUSE S2000 GT1 w/ NOS & the stage 4 turbo. (556 hp):D

    ahhhhhhh...
Finally broke into the 18s with a 2:18.755.

This course is awesome - by the way here's my settings:

    spring rate: 10.0f, 14.0r
    ride height: 95 mm f&r
    dampers: compression:6f, 8r
    rebound: 7f, 8r
    camber: 3.0f, 1.5r
    sway bars: 4f, 6r

no driver aids (you really don't need them if you're not using the grass)

oh and I went 6f, 9r on the brakes.

As you can tell I was having trouble turning in, but even with these agressive settings the rear of the car stays planted no matter how heavy you are with the throttle exiting corners. I wonder if a LSD would help in getting the car to rotate out of turns... but alas not allowed :)

Well, I got to 2.27.787 with the car mod'd but not tuned. After tuning it was faster & much easier to drive, but I didn't have time to get in a clean lap : (

On the plus side, I managed to get my cockpit mostly finished!

Honestly, I haven't given it the time. I haven't lost interest, but after spending a *lot* of time chasing a few tenths in round one, I got a little discouraged.

That said, I know you don't get any better by not practicing. I've got a competetive nature, but I know when I've been beaten. :)

If this was an online competition it would be lots more fun... but it is what it is, and I need to give this round the old college try.

YES! I have GT4, for a few days now actually. I have all the licenses except the last one. My fastest car is my XJ220 LM race car with a stage 5 turbo kit (about 900 something HP), then my fully modded M5.

I need some time until i join you guys in this contest though, i don't have too much money to play around with yet....

    Very funny, Mike....lol.:D

I ran about 6 laps again yesterday and can get 2 seconds off of my ghost lap just in the first 1/2 of the track. So a 2'14.xxx is definitely possible.

Time for some morning cereal and some hotlaps!

Well, it's Monaco for F1 next, how about that for a track?

I was trying to find a good car for the track this past weekend. The Panoz, Cien, and Amuse S2000 (all fully modded) were OK, but the Chaparral vaccum cleaner car was a disappointment. Fast, but not as fun somehow. Was going to try the old Cobra next, but the Boys kicked me off to play Star Wars (humph!).

Open any car really, as long as its fast.

This is quite a technical course and being fast... hmmmm why not say a particular Alfa - unlimited. Or even a Mini - unlimited? TVR's would be nice too.

How about a BMW 2002 Turbo? Can be won in the Series 1 championship and is a total blast to drive with minor mods ...

Edit - I take that back! The AlItalia Stratos (won in the special conditions race) is awesome in Monaco. :D

So long as its not the Cerbera. One of the early TVRs would be OK. How is the Mini - I haven't tried it at all.

If we were to use a car like the Mini, I would rather go Alfa GTA or older Spider.

I could go for the stratos too, although allow the regular one you can buy too. I really enjoy that car, although I could use some help tuning the suspension!

The Mini is actually pretty fun to drive, although I have not driven it in Monaco ... a bit on the slow side, but fun on corner entry ...

Ok, I take it back, the Chaparral is a blast - but you need to adjust the gearing for the circuit. 6 or 7 is a much better compromise, it actually has some get go off the line. Getting my best times at Circuit d'Amalfi now. Too easy to drive, perhaps.

So, got the Shelby Cobra (original), and it requires more care with braking and turn in, and is more fun oversteering around the corners!

Heh, we probably should do a Honda though.....
