http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=20621 Someone had to be blamed for the devastating start of the season Let's see how it turns out for them this weekend and their new MP4 19B http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=20618 (it's not ready for this weekend though) i'm curious if we're gonna see smoke on Kimi's tail Track marshalls beware !
Actually not the first head. Werner Laurenz, the director in charge of the engine development got sacked after the Sepang desaster.
On another site the same name was mentionned but there he had the function of chief engine development. But if he's sacked a couple of weeks ago, then this is old news
It is hard to figure out what these titles mean. However your news was in regards to Maik, mine to Laurenz, so we're talking here two different guys, but both in the engine department. Goes to show, that Mc Laren is in deep trouble. If the engine is not reliable and doesn't have enough horse power, the rest of the car matters little. Game over for 2004.
I'm beginning to feel sorry for Kimi, he deserves a better car. They developped the MP4-18 whole year last season, didn't use it. Developped the MP4-19 with the known results. How must Montoya be feeling? Signing a contract a year in advance isn't a good idea in my humble opinion. Let's hope BAR and Renault can spice up the rest of the season (fighting for third place, that goes without saying ) Forza Ferrari
Yes, Kimi deserves a better car (for himself and for the fans). I heard statements from McLaren that they will bring out an entirely new car this summer. New cockpit with new crash tests, the whole 9 yards. Mid season, a desperate move. Montoya has stated in an interview, that he is not worried. And frankly he shouldn't be at this point. This season is lost for McLaren, but who knows where they'll be next year?
They were saying that last year was lost for McLaren also but Kimi showed everyone that the MP17D wasn't totally out of competition. I think he can still pull something off, maybe not as close as he'd like, but I'm sure they'll pull something out of the hat. Even though I'm not a very big fan of Kimi, I really do think he deserves a better car. It would make for a lot better racing also. I was hoping for a close 3 or 4 way battle for the title this year. Looks like it'll be a "battle" between RB and Michael so far...
I feel nothing for Kimi, Montoya, BAR and Renault. I love it when they lose to Ferrari. I have supported this team since the mid-70's and survived the long drought from 1979. Everyone seems quick to forget the absolute domination of teams like Tyrrell, Lotus, Renault, McLaren et al over the past 25 years, and how Ferrari just persevered through those tough years to eventually make it back to the top. F*ck the rest....It's my time to gloat!! Cheers, MARK

Yeah, mostly agree. Bad seasons will be back soon, so we must enjoy these days of glory before they´re gone (maybe to not come back again). So forget all that stuff of spicing up the season. Forza Ferrari.
quote from Mark: "I have supported this team since the mid-70's and survived the long drought from 1979. Lotus also didn't do much after 1978.......one win for De Angelis, and a few wins for Senna from 1985 to 1987 which were down to him overcoming the car. Ferrari were right up there in the latter part of 1987, and again in 1989 and 1990; the big difference was getting the Schumi/Brawn/Byrne triumvirate away from Benetton where they had made all the difference to that team too. Much as I love Ferrari as an entity, as the team which has been in the WC all the way through, there has never been a car/driver combo which has dominated for four, and now maybe five, straight years, and it's getting pretty dull. PWM
Hi Macca - sure, Williams was another of the dominant forces, but last night I was thinking of Jackie Stewart and Ken Tyrrell in the late 60's and early 70's. "...there has never been a car/driver combo which has dominated for four, and now maybe five, straight years, and it's getting pretty dull..." Hmmmm!! Well, all I can say it's up to the other teams to get their act together. I'm sick of the continual rule changing to try and "reign Ferrari in"....in any event, it's not working (as we say from today's Imola qualifying) No - never boring for me....I lap up every win, podium and point, and store them away for the days when the tide eventually turns. Forza Ferrari...that's for sure!! MARK
