    So what do you all think? Not about whether or not this entry above is serious, but whether or not technology has caught up with the idea of the flying car.

    And then . . . .

    A flying Ferrari?????

    Flying cars tend to be pretty bad cars and pretty bad airplanes.. Too much compromise in trying to do both...

    Tend to have the same problem with amphibious vehicles... They aren't very good boats and they aren't very good land vehicles...

    Same thing with VTOL.... And while I'm a fan of the V22, since it is the best compromise in a VTOL airplane, it's still a very compromised design that gives up a lot of payload for VTOL capability. If it wasn't for the requirement that it "fold" up for storage the V-22 might have been a pretty good package, but that feature really increased the weight and cost and that hurt the overall performance.
