Are these cars going to get hot? Being there are only 300 made.
Is anyone paying above MSRP yet? Does anyone see it fetching a premium after they are all built.

I do not think so, as the car may prove a bit much for the majority of car buyers (in term of comfort, or lack there of)

Checked one out here recently. Impressions:

Visually striking in black. If you get the car in any othe color, all of the add-on panels & wings stay black, however, so it looks terrible. Even in black, the add-ons are flat and the body is gloss.

The rear window is covered in a screen, which eliminates 3/4 & rear view. This is a car in which you can see only what's in front of you and to the sides.

The top is fixed in place. Looks nice from the outside, but prevents you from enjoying top-off driving, particularly since the Elise is so claustrophobic to begin with.

Summarily: This is a track car. If you want a Lotus you can live with in normal street driving, get the Elise.

You may want to check www.elisetalk.com
There are some dealers selling the cars ar MRSP to the people on their waiting lists, some are selling them selling them way over.
If this car follows the path of the Elise, the price will dramatically go down as the initiall rush goes away. Dealers cannot get rid of them (no matter what they tell you), you can find 2005 elise in the low 30's.

Your smoking thai stick again pal!!!! I just bought a new exige at MSRP..I would have bought an Elise new or used but prices on used were maybe 10%off msrp for cars with low miles.I grabbed this exige just in time the dealer sold two in just days!!! What a car so happy I JUMPED IN!!! I have owned four mondern Ferraris and many fun cars in my time this thing is just addictive!!!!!Lotus has there SHI# in one bag here!!!!! I dont care were the values go this is to much fun!!!! I suspect that they stay around MSRP because of supply and demand. The Elise has performed well in the value department so far. With 300 Exiges out there per year this is a small ### in the world of cars.....BEN
