Yes, the FXXK will be running on track Saturday at times during the "Ferrari Show" segment starting 17:45 local. #Racewife and I are hoping to get a lap in the passenger seat.

same kind of use as the P1 GTR which you are getting isn't it? you should've done it, because you'd have 2 of the most insane track specials :)

Ah, great! Must have been a last minute addition to the timetable, as it didn't appear in the one I had at hand. Hope you get your ride, but I presume quite a few of the XX Clienti out there want that too ;)

Peter, now when the car is official, can you share with us renders of your specification? Can't wait to see this car in different liveries.

"The FXX K can lap Ferrari's Fiorano test
track in just 1m 14sec, some five seconds faster
    than LaFerrari."

Are those Autocar's speculations about lap time or ... ?
(I have thought it would be a bit faster than that)
Autocar say - 1.14 and 5s faster than LaF. Let's get this together. The most quoted LaF lap time at Fiorano track is 1.20.0. So ...?

The lap time should have been then in high 14.x -s. If you take LaFerrari time from Alonso's video footage, as 1.19.9 , then -5sec it is 1.14.x but it is also "high" in my opinion, in my expectations :-D.

The 1.15 time is already occupied by 599XX Evo. I was 'aiming' for a lap time between 1.12 - 1.13 .

In their XX department it is an improvement. Likely about 1s to the previous XX. (Although I was expecting a bit ! more)
GTs are again another (great) bunch of differences. Let's say that this way - XXs are client-approachable Prototypes. Something between road and strictly racing division.
Xtreme Xperimental projects. No direct comparison to GT and vice versa because of different targets.

F50GT is a straight out race car... Just like a 458 GTE/GT3 will hand an XX its ass on track. They are not the same type of car.

Rear suspension changed from double wishbones to multi-link - no more wheels coming off Prima Variante then?

    Specs say multi-link.

BTW, why "from double wishbone". LaF is multi-link, like all other current Ferrari road cars.

I'll come right out and say it. I love our 599XX EVO to death, but there's no way on earth it's only 1s slower around Fiorano than the FXXK. And the 599XX is going run Fiorano in 1:15s under ideal conditions -- hell, I've ridden along as a passenger with our coach (who's an excellent driver but not a world champion), and we turned in 1:17s.

I don't know what to estimate for a laptime @ Fiorano with FXXK, and my guess is Ferrari doesn't know exactly either as they're still developing the car. But 3s seems plausible, only because there are few places you can use the power. On a quick track like Monza the difference will be staggering.

Well I must explain myself in advance that I dont know verbatim meaning and even didnt acquire that knowledge. But that was "my" suitable name for it;).
The full name to resolve is "FXX" in which F stands for Ferrari (what else?) and next goes the X.. X.. . K in FXXK is no mystery here - it means just ("release the) Kraken";-). In engineering Ferrari terms meaning the KERS. :)

Yeah, I figured out what F means by myself, K was mentioned in press release. Just these two Xs are little mystery to me.

Surely. I Just tried to recall all letters symbolic on the topic, not to cut only the XX-es.
Interestingly, also the K is a fine match to FXX moniker. The logotype FXXK is almost like FXXX. - it may be third power X or if somebody prefers, K is the next 'X' cut in half. In each case it would mean the next step in FXX cars development. Clever. Anybody got suggestions why number 10 (X) on the first FXXK livery?;-)
    Such digressions only.;-)
