Lets start this thread off by saying today was quite a different experience in Greenwich. First off i spent 2 hours at Miller Motorcars talking with a good friend of mine-Werner Pfister. So 2 hours go by and he had some business to take care of so i decided i would walk down to the main avenue. Upon my arrival is a beautiful blue 360 Spider! So im taking pictures of it and decide to move on. As im walking down i see something parked thats yellow and caught my eye right away. I stumbled upon a Lamborghini Diablo 6.0!! As im taking pictures i noticed a Ferrari sticker on the windshield. Looked quite familiar then the owner comes out. I talk to him fo a few minutes asking him what other cars he owns and it happens to be Mr. Amenasce!! It was really cool meeting him and he was really generous and one of the highlights of my day :) Well i walk around for awhile seeing more 360s, F430s, and some other nice stuff when i stumble upon a red 360 Spider. No one is around so i take a couple pictures and im on my way. About 1 hour later i come back and see the lights on nd the engine running....so this is how the story goes- hes sitting there with his lights on, engine running, and on his cell. So i go take 2 pictures of the car WITHOUT flash. He then rolls down the window and yells "respect my privacy!" I said im just taking pictures....Well i go sit down on a bench which is right near the car. I see him giving me dirty looks then im thinking i have every right to take pictures. We are both on public property and there is no law against it. So i see he is about to leave so i wanted to get another picture so i went and took one and i see him rolling down his window. He said... "Im gonna call the police your harassing me!!" Im told him go ahead im just taking pictures. He then said "i told you not to take pictures your harassing me!!" I said "no, you said respect your privacy in a rude manner." I then told him he gives a bad name to Ferrari owners. He said "I give a bad name to everything" i then walked away swearing at him then i see him actually leaving so i go back and take pics of him leaving. This is officially the first rude owner ive ever come upon!! What does everyone else think? Well thats my story for today and pictures will be coming shortly.

What do we think of what happened to you with the pictures, or about the few rude obnoxious Ferrari owners?

If it was about the pictures, you had every right to take them and enjoy the car. As long as the camera lens isnt poking him in the eye ofcourse. Hell if I had a camera with me everytime Ive seen a F-car I would take pictures too.

If it was about rude Ferrari owners I would say they suck. Most of the rude ones seem to be the ones who buy the car for the name. Luckily I have not stumbled upon any rude ones in the few Concours I have been to. All were great and enjoyed a chat. Most owners, atleast the ones I have spoken with, are just regular guys with a passion for nice cars. There are always the rotten apples. I once made the "mistake" of saying nice Lambo to a guy who was rude, its alright he probably drives worse then I do. :D

Jason you are one of the most talented photogs I know, but I see it differently. Why push the guy's buttons? Its not like you havent seen tons of 360 Spiders before. Theyre hardly rare, and if this guy asked you not to snap em, it shouldve ended there. Do you have the right.... yes, but you also have the right to be considerate as well. You have already come across some very generous owners in the past, and you are very lucky for the exotic car experiences you have had. I think it was poor judgement to engage the guy, and even worse to complain about it here.

Stay positive and stay humble.... you have a promising career ahead.

    Jason:

Sorry to hear about that. If the owner was like that in the beginning, I would have just said I am sorry and let them be. Not worth the arguing. Only a matter of time before you found some of the bad Ferrari owners out there. Hey look at the bright side, you learned just to take pictures without owners. LOL! Sorry about that experience but do not let it bother you, you are very talented at what you do!

    my favorite pics-

Edit: in the 360 spider pic at night thats the guy i was talking about. When i was taking the pictures i didnt even see his hand trying to block his face. It was extremely dark where we were so i had to brighten up the picture a lot. If he said something right off the bat when he saw me like....please dont take pictures it would be a complete different story.

Hey, if Britney cannot get a court order banning me from using infrared cameras to scan her house and take pictures of the heat signatures inside, I highly doubt some schmot in a Spider has lany reasonable expectation of privacy on a public road. Too bad you did not have some blue-snarfing software, you might have been able to listen in on his phone call and downloaded his address book.

    ;)

Great pics Jason, but I'm with Greg, you can do whatever you want legally, but the camera is bugging someone, leave it alone - there are a ton more cars out there to take pics of.

Loved the last pic of the group - very cool. You've really improved over the past year ;)

Did you say Greenwich? Did the guy have Ct. plates? I have been to Greenwich a few times and have never seen such a large collection of snotty, rude, arrogant a$$'s. I am SURE that most people there are OK, but it does seem to have a vocal minority of miserable folks.

Jason - You should have just left the guy alone. Why aggrevate the situation worse?? Doing that does not benefit you. Otherwise, GREAT PHOTOS!!!

Hope all is cool with you fellas up there :) !!!!

Im using a Canon Digital Rebel XT :) HAHA i like your thinking!

Yeah he had CT plates. Truthfully ive met soo many exotic car owners in Greenwich and 99% are very nice and love seeing the look on my face when i see their car. Ive met people from Tommy Hilfiger in his Enzo, an owner of a CGT then later in his black Enzo, Mr. Amenasce, and a bunch more but all of them we all willing to let me take pictures of their cars. They also didnt mind talking with me for 5-10 minutes before they left. On the other hand i was going down the main avenue in a Viper GTS and a Carrera GT pulled up next to us. At the stop sign i told him nice car when he looked over saw we were in a Viper and looked back and kept driving. I dont know what he was thinking but it gave me the impression he thought he was better than us because he was in a Carrera GT. Then the 360 Spider owner is the first guy that really gave me crap saying he was gonna call the police and everything. The funny thing is there was a cop earlier that day asking what i was taking pictures of and i said exotic cars when she said oo well Greenwich is definitly the place for that....have fun! Its pretty amazing the kind of people you get in one town.

Hutch its really a shame that people let the area they are living in get to them. Just because you live in a rich area doesnt mean you are better then everyone else. I dont blame you for wanting to get outa there! Im glad that you and everyone else likes the pictures!! :)

Im only 16....Heres the picture I took of Tommy Hilfiger. The funny thing is he told me to take his picture since i was so enthusiastic about meeting him. The guy in the 360 knew i wasnt paparazzi. Although i am car paparazzi since i go out looking for nice cars...if that makes any sense. I also broke the 7,000 picture mark when i was there :) Ive only had my camera since late July!

Jason-- as Greg said, no reason to take pictures of a car without an owners consent-- alot of people really value their privacy and are uncomfortable with random kids taking pictures even though its technically legal-- its not like you haven't seen a red 360 before..
