    Texas!
Lately, there has been some bashing of those pushers who abuse us junkies. (I should know because I have participated in some of the bashing.)

However, let's spin this differently, i.e., who are the good guys in this bidness? You know, the guys who have the good stuff and only take most of your money, not all of it. :)

The only caveat here is that your "good guy" has to be someone who you actually swapped money with. A kiss on each cheek doesn't count.

For example, I have known Tom Shaughnessy long enough that I really respect what he has to say. But, I have never brought a car from Tom.

I, however, have sold a car to Marc Tauber of The Stable, Ltd. (Yes, they are the same ones who advertise in R&T.) Even worst was that I didn't realize that the car had some paint work. But, Marc was cool about the whole thing. A deal was a deal and all that.

Did Marc still make money on the deal? I have no doubt that he did. After all, this is what he does for a living. But, he believed me that I wasn't trying to rip him off. So, for that Marc, you get a tip of the hat: "Marc" <[email protected]>

Marc was a referral from a friend of mine who has been dealing with him for years and years. According to my friend, if you are looking for a Daytona, Marc is da man.

    So, who do you nominate?

    Dale

Micheal Wilhoit in Springfield MO sold a newbie a nice car...it turned out to be Vern Cornell's!

Anyway I took so long to pick it up I had to make total payment....sent my life savings up with the promise "if you get here and don't like it I'll give you your money back!'

I was crazy, but it turned out well..

    Others were private sales.........

I've been really happy with how I've been treated by Francois Sicard. restoration and repair vs. sales.

Paul will sell you a car, Kevin will sort out the bodywork, Terry will fettle the engine and Rorky will do your retrim.

You will then be totally skint but goodness me what a car you will have.

I have been buying from Geoff Ohland (Partsource) for as long as he has been in business and I have NEVER had a complaint about any transaction.

His parts have always been top quality, reasonably priced and delivered EXACTLY as ordered.

I have NEVER sent anything back to him.

I purchased a car from FAF and I could not have been more pleased with the transaction.

I have never bought from Tom S. but feedback from those who have is 100% positive.

Lots of good people in this area of specialty cars.

Patrick Ottis in San Francisco Bay Area is a hell of a nice man and has a super crew, like Brian Brown, who lets us pick his head on this forum from time to time.

Patrick and his crew work on a 166MM alongside a 250GTE and treat both customers with the same level of dignity and esteem.

I have bought parts and stuff from Tom Shaughnessy, never a car, but everything was as described and straightforward.

I have had good luck with Greg Theis of Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo. I have bought a car from him, and again everything was good and as described, and he stood behind it when I had some (not huge) issues later on. They usually have a few vintage cars in their inventory. I would not hesitate to buy a car from him again.

I have always gotten along with Tom, even though his thing is million dollar Ferraris, and mine is more $2000 Italian sports cars. I have never bought anything from him, but he has purchased any number of books from me over the years, and not complained about the prices on items that are difficult to find.

Put in my nomination for Tom Shaughnessy. I've bought several Ferraris from him and he has bought one from me. Always very good. I go to tom first.

I thought you were into investments and movies, not politics! ;) I guess even little fish get caught now and then, but then the fisherman gets mad and throws it back watching it flop for mercy. :)

Politics do interest me. I come from a proud tradition of pissing people off.
My Dad made Nixon's enemy list and I try to do my part. As I get older I've come to realize that the True Tao is the Tao that can't be followed.

You are a good guy and you've built something very special.
