Heard the Gothmuff. No obnoxious thrumming, just that pure 348 sound I've come to love. No fake "F1" sound. Gets loud when you hit the loudpedal. Sounds like a bigger V8!
The engineering and workmanship are spacecraft quality (wonder why?). 2 1/2" all the way, X inside can, right size can, light weight (-25lbs), verifiable horsepower! Thanks for sharing your work and expertise, Goth!

    What are the dyno gains?

I'd be curious to see versus Pap's X-OST. (18 RWHP) Which, by the way is what I have.

We may have two different starting points with this 'comparison'. Paps I believe was a 'two-can' system 300HP. Vinces was a single can system 312HP. So Vinces has factory 'tuning' to improve upon.

Idealy..... for proper comparison..... we would have to try the two different exhausts on the same car/starting point....... using the same cats .......... so that the only 'variable' is the exhaust. :)

    Yo Goth,

Now, I guess I'll have to really start looking for my 355 so I can install the "Gothmuff", as the ultimate upgrade !

    Cheers, Hank

I suspect that the Gothmuff fits a Mondial T already...

Hey, I never thought of that possibility----------- but I must say, Rachel's music leaves me not in search of another composer. Now, for the 355 of my dreams, who knows.
I'll just drive out to Goth's place and listen to his tunes. That five valve is another animal - - right?

    Cheers, Hank

Well since my car is down for repair right now anyway, I can remove my dual can set up and bring it down. Just let me know when.

I've heard the Xost on a 355. I can obviously hear the difference between Rachel's 348 engine sound and the sound of a 355. Both are intoxicating but i sure would like to hear where the subtleties lie between like engines.

The real interesting news will be when the 355 gothmuff gets built...

FYI, do not expect huge Hp gains from these mods. We have learned that there is just not that much extra power left in these engines without some radical (read not legal) changes.

I agree. I think that as regards HP in a stock engine, it's all about proper tuning, maintenance and such. Sure, we get additional benefits from really good cats and an upgraded silencer but for the most part, it's the sound that gets changed. As regards cat and silencer modifications, most posts indicate a concern for "how cool it sounds" - - subjective as hell, right? It's kinda like a choice we make between everything from loud & raspy to deep & throbby:)

Hell, you know where I'm going with this - just wanted to add to your initial thought.......

    Cheers, Hank
