I'm not sure if it would be rude, but I plan on driving downtown Searcy (I live there) and looking at the cars and meeting some people if possible. I noticed that Jack Roush is going to be there in "The General" which is a great looking car.

If anyone wants to meet up let me know. We can meet at my humble abode and go from there.

P.S. Steve - My friend Sam that you let drive the 575... he was hoping you would be there to look at that car again. :)

Oops - forgot to add that they are going to be there July 4th about mid morning.

    Gene,
I might be able to get there - I'll drive the new F430 !! Spencer might come with me if he is in town. I'll let you know when it gets a little closer.

So... I'm extremely upset that I didn't know about this! I'll be in Iowa! As the poorest F-Chatter alive (20yo military, lol), I would've killed for the chance to see some of these beautiful autos. Anyone in the vicinity of the Air Base in Jacksonville (just north of Little Rock, though I'm in North Louisiana [Monroe] quite often.), care to help a fellow f-car lover to experience one of these awesome machines? Having only seen 4 Ferraris personally (only 1 on static display, 3 on roadways), I've always had a hidden (ok, not so much hidden, since I refer to it often enough) desire to ride in a f-car!

Soooo, yep. That's my attempt at begging for a ride. Any takers?

If you can't come on July 4th, try and come next time we get together. I'll give you a ride in a F430 that you will never forget!!!!

I should be there on the 4th if it doesn't rain. The 430 is an awesome car. It is so different than my 512 TR. Whereas the 360 is somewhat "twitchy" at it's limit, the 430 is very smooth and actually forgiving if you make a little mistake. Shifts are incredible in Race mode!! Please send me a map to your house or we can meet at the Wal Mart parking lot. Also, let me know what time I need to be there.

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike,

Glad to hear that you will be here (weather permitting). I think we should meet in Searcy no later that 10:45 a.m. They are scheduled to come through at 11:35, but looking at where they are coming from I think it will be earlier.

Instead of giving everyone directions, we can just meet in the Wal-Mart parking lot again as it is right off of exit 46. I'll be there around 10:30.

I'll PM you my phone number. Anyone else that is coming just PM me and I'll get back to you soon.

    Spyderout,

I have never ridden with Mike, but I can tell you that the only time I followed him that you will get a better thrill than an E Ticket.

I'll give you a ride anytime that you are in town. Not nearly as thrilling as an F430 or 512TR, but still fun.

Another treat is if you get to meet Steve in his 575. A work of art and he's a great guy to boot.

It's weird to think... 11 years ago I was poor, 20 years old and stationed at LRAFB.

Looks like the weather on the fourth is going to be OK. Is there still going to be a meet-up in Searcy? The 575 has been sitting idle for 6 weeks and need a small road trip.

Steve, I'll be there around 10:30 am at the Wal Mart parking lot (where we met last time.) Please come because we need the rumble of a big 12 cylinder to augment Gene's and my 8 cylinders. See you tomorrow!!

Mike, that would be incredible. I'll be out of town til the 17th, but LR has become my home so I'm sure I'll be around. How often do you guys meet?

GTHill, what was your job? I've only been here for about 10 months, but I'm liking it so far. And the 328 is an absolutely timeless classic, and I would consider it an honor and a treat to ride in yours. Also, a 328 would be within my realm after I get out, so it'd be nice to see what I may wind up in!

    Josh,

I was a T56X1B (C-130 Engine guy) in ISO. My friend just got transfered back to LRAFB and he has the same job.

Let me know when you are back in town and we'll go for a ride. Can you get me access to the runway? :)

If only :( ! That would undoubtedly turn into a memorable experience! Actually though, I don't even work on the flightline, I'm right across the street (Intel job with the 314th)..
