The event was sold out early on the first day of registration and I was put on the wait list. Never expected to hear about it again. Email came telling me Sunday was still available and I said YES! And thus the Mondial is back in training. Specifically, it will be resting up over the next few weeks until the trip to Clayton Georgia.

I predict a speed of 115 mph for the full half mile. A bit under 100 mph for the quarter mile. Elapse time is not my purpose and will be about 1/2 second slower then if I did an actual smokey burn out. I might get Alpha about such a start and will have cameras in place for that purpose. But it would be imprudent. Then again I am not always the most prudent person in the room.

They tell me there will be time for five runs. My first run will be an easy start shifting at 7,700. My second will be shifting at 7,000 rpms. A third will be at 6,500 rpms. After that a prudent thing would be to stop. If I am imprudent I might actually do a full smokey burn out. Normally there is a wet pad to spin and warm your tires. I might try that on a fourth run and if there is no axle hop I 'might' try a 4,000 rpm clutch drop.

Every hunk of Detroit Iron I ever owned would do that endlessly. Never broke anything. The problem with the Ferrari is if it does break we are talking scrap metal.
