....that as in the fin on the LMPs, it "disappeared" from view in the first few laps of Australia? 'Had a feeling it would; 'why I never posted about it's ugliness.
I think Halo looked awful every minute of all three races. I don't expect my view to change. It's like a giant wart on a nose of a pretty girl. You never get used to it.
Just waiting for the first time a car gets launched over another one ..and gets stuck in the halo. The thing in an abomination.
Vettel is a thin as I have ever seen him in his career. Did you see him try to squeeze out? Wait until a driver has to get out quickly or someone has to pull them out.
Yep, everytime they show someone climbing out it is a struggle. Much harder to use the edge of the cockpit to lift yourself out because your arms hit the halo. Of course if they are upside down they will have gravity to assist them.
I think Ferrari have done the best because they've made it appear integrated with the car as a whole (it actually is) by having it body color.
If the halo wasn't highly noticeable, Ferrari wouldn't have placed three bits of advertising and a prancing horse shield on it.
Well, in the cockpit closeups, nothing, including paint, will make the halos disappear. I think the teams should be required to put the car number on the halo.
I keep hoping a team will paint gloved hands on the halo so I’ll be able to connect with onboard camera shots now. Kind of like the watch on Hammies gloves.
They should use the drivers helmet colours like this. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
From the side ... it's okay-ish. From the top onboard cams or from the front you see just how awful it is. The shape is completely out of place on the car with the way the curve is. The thong part is just too thick and makes the whole thing look like some stupid add-on
@lorenzobandini Agreed. I don't really notice it anymore. The ones I notice the most these days are the Ferrari and Sauber. Ones that are left unpainted or black kinda disappear. Ferrari's is even worse with the logo in the middle, like a red dot on the forehead.
Shazam. 'Had a feeling the replies above would be forthcoming. Is anybody here a real race fan? Or, just show watchers? 'Don't bother to answer. I already have a clue. Indycar's there....they're prettier and the "racing" is so much more entertaining, so enjoy. Too bad the tech ain't there but I guess that suits the masses.
On sky they talked about this for a while and the story is that Vettel had a new paddle on the back of his steering wheel of which he wanted to minimize exposure, making the exit look extra awkward
