Dan Gurney was the first F1 driver that I can recall to wear a full face helmet.

How so? In what way would it restrict a driver's exit from the car?

It may be ugly, but it could have possibly saved Jules Bianchi's life........

Racing is dangerous. Racers except the risks.

Sky diving is dangerous. Sky divers accept the risk.

Scuba diving is dangerous. Scuba divers accept the risk.

Mountain climbing is dangerous. Mountain climbers accept the risk.

No one wants to see anyone hurt but getting out of your bathtub is a risk. Without risk their is no reward. You might as well have drivers sit in simulators and compete.

go to 20:10 it takes approx. 21 sec from when the wheel hits the ground till the driver is standing. if the car is up against a barrier and on fire that would not be good

    Look at Massa.

Massa was hit in the head by a spring going maybe 100 mph.

Yes he was seriously hurt and could have died. But what did he do when he recovered?

He got back in the same car. In fact Massa would race today in F1 if someone let him.

Racers know what they face and accept it. If they didn't they wouldn’t race. Massa could have retired and called it too difficult to get back into a car. He didn’t because he knew and accepts the risks drivers face.

Guys seriously I can see the benefits in situations, But I can also see some problems as we all do. I hope for the best for the drivers. If one incident happens down the road that causes a serious injury or worse none of us will feel good about that, told ya so or not. Its a trade off certain situ vs. inverted or against a wall, like button or Alonsos incident recently
