Has this never been mentioned before? In case of rain and especially if windy, could it not end up being all forced down the driver’s visor?
Many good questions brought up here. Yours is one I hadn't thought of at all. The good news is, rules can be changed. That's something I'm counting on in this case!
It remains to be seen what kind of curl or foil the halo will cause on the driver's visor in wet race conditions.
* Funny. When I was checking out all the new cars revealed over the last few days, a toilet seat what came to my twisted mind as well!
doubt it. Rain delay. Postpone the race 2hrs even though they have the tyres for it. Charlie's scared that a fatal accident might happen even though we have the halo now. I welcome a downpour in an F1 race. Seperates the men from the boys or the skilled vs the unskilled. We shall see when a race has rain involved.
This Halo is a nightmare! The ANTI-RACING icon! It is the enemy of F1, it is so much against the sport. Unbelievable that the drivers accepted this catastrophy. These funny comparisons come to mind -Badly designed toilet seat, -Failed monkey cage -Viagra for a castrate -Diaper in your 10.000$ silk Armani suit Hopefully, there will come a time that we'll have a good laugh about it.
Image Unavailable, Please Login I'm 71, and I agree. Further to the Surtees photo, as much as I enjoy vintage racing, for the cars - this may be safe(r) but it isn't period correct and just doesn't look right. JMHO
Actually the name halo is well chosen, an important company got it, a long time ago!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That camera is mounted higher than the driver's line of sight. I can't imagine he would see much of the top horizontal portion. For the life of me though, how the heck do they put a post right down the center in the driver's line of sight??
