Yes very sad news about peter, have fond memories of that team in the early 90s.

Great game. Wish I could say the same about the Canucks vs Flamers.

The Leafs were pretty good last nite, not spectacular considering its only the 1st game of the season.

Hopefully they will pick up some more speed and better plays.

Stajan and Kaberle were fantastic as usual....glad to see them around this year again.

He had a really good game.

And the Flames will never amount to anything as long as Kipper is in net.

Flames win 2 in a row. Vancouver and Edmonton down. Kipper plays great.

For good measure, the Stampeders in the CFL are also leading the way.

If the Washington Capitals keep up this pace, I think they will be in the finals this year.

    That team is deadly.

If the Toronto Maple Leafs keep up this pace, I think they will be in the cellar this year.

    That team is dead...

As for the Habs, they'll do like always: in like a lion, out like a lamb, and hitting the golf course by the second round of the playoffs.

    Hope I'm wrong. ;)

    Me too!!
Even though they are 2-0 they were two weak wins, atleast Gionta even realizes that, hopefully they can change that up!

As for the Leafs, its everything I expected to be. I'm sure by the end of the year it'll be rebuilding year No. 15 just to keep the fans satisfied

Lol the leafs lost 2 games 1 in OT, the other against a top team in the NHL & east. You cant write them off yet! Think they will finish above the Habs. If they were 15-0 then id worry.

Yes, I'm apprehensive to say the least.........All these big moves over the summer will mean nothing if they can't play together as a team. Luckily they have the strong blue-liners like Ian White and Jeff Finger to keep things together.

Hopefully their new goalie Gustavsson can replace Toskala soon, he's up to his old tricks again. (3 goals against every 1st period)

Its Official.....all Toronto Sports teams Suck!!!

Toronto Maple Leafs: 0-7-1 Off to the worst season in history

Toronto Blue Jays: Another losing year and no playoffs

Toronto Raptors: According to their preseason stats, they are going to have another crappy year like 2008

Toronto FC: .500 year, missed playoffs and lost a deciding game against the worst team in the league 5-0 last nite.

Let's put a team in Waterloo, and have it run by a real businessman with a passion for hockey. The Leafs are, and have been for years, a joke. It pains me to say that having grown up a Leafs fan.

But when you're run by a Teacher's Pension Fund, your #1 goal is a reasonable rate of return, not a Stanley Cup.

Competition is needed in Southern Ontario, and the fact that the Leafs command such ridiculous ticket prices is both proof of this, and proof of why the Leafs don't want another team in Ontario.

I heard on CBC radio this week that Hockey Night in Canada is threatening to drop the Leafs' games in favour of a team with better quality hockey. I'd love to see that happen.

When I want to watch great hockey at reasonable prices, I go see a Kitchener Rangers game.
