    Grant,

Yes, that lone little side indicator is looking good in that 'sea' of blue:)

A handling fee for a faulty part? Is that for real?

Good news on the brake rotors.
New ones from F-uk came and where perfect, Eurospares have agreed to give me a full refund, when they saw how bad the disks they supplied where.

and that's why so many restored cars become "trailer queens", it's so difficult to maintain the just-restored appearance. The cad plating in particular ages quickly.

I do about 3000 miles a year and have the car up on stands for 3 or 4 weekends while I clean everything. If you keep on top of it it's possible to maintain about 80% of the restored appearance and I find the task strangely enjoyable!

Our carby group here in Aus doesn't shy away from real driving either!

Thanks for the tip off Peter.

Unfortunately it is not the right one for my car, My Daytona use's 40 DCN 20 or 21, I think most use these not the 40 DCNF, but i have been wrong before.

Will we be seeing you at The Queens summer residence, this summer for the Daytona Meet?

Parts for this week, anyone lend me a pound?:-

On top of the £1000 two front brake disc's, i have Just had to buy new headlight units x 4 and all the rubber seals from the USA, and 4 Borrani spinners as my original ones did not have a deep enough thread!

I might need more then a pound actually, don't tell the wife please, she think she is going on holiday this year!

    Grant,

Your original spinners held the wheels on for many years, why are they now all of a sudden not fitting correctly? I suspect that a fault occurred elsewhere, like a new hub that may be a little long or someone machiened the centre of your wheels?

Do you have another wheel to try on the same hub?

    Hi Jack
    Great minds think alike.
Rob tried one of the old alloys and yes it's the new wheels, with the old alloys the spinners turned 4 times before locking, and with the new wires only two, which is not enough, so i have had to order new Borrani spinners, which the retailer of the Borrani's told me originally would not be necessary, as my old spinners would be ok!

    Personal opinion warning :).

Daytonas simply don't suit wires, save your money and stick with the mags. Period correct as wires stopped being used in the late 60's and then became posuer non-functional make-up ...

That's somehow hard to imagine, it means that when you want to swap wires for alloys you'd need to swap spinners as well, and vice versa. There must be more to it, like for instance the spinners for the wires gripping the wheel on the inner surfca rather than on the nose of the splines, or something of that nature. If you have an alloy for spare, better carry a spinner with it!

I was under the impression that the wheels could be swapped even with use of identical spinners, but I've been wrong before:)

Borranis were still an option on the Daytona, although I would agree that the star cromadoras suit the car better.

Wires come apart on the Track, as far back as Ferrari's entires into the Indy 500......

That's where the bias towards cast wheels began...

    Of course it looks great!

For now I'm interested in the way the new caps differ from the original items.

Pity its the wrong Carb, my boxer used to run 4 Weber 40 IF3C carburettors and they were very hard to get bits for and EXPENSIVE but I would not have swapped them (or the car) for an injection one as the roar of the induction was something to behold I Really wish I still had it but the Irish roads would have killed it !

Unfortunately I will not make the meeting as I will be in South Korea at work when its on :-( As you will see from the news letter the car was going to be up for sale but I have reached agreement with the Irish authorities over the Import duty so now I'm keeping it so I WILL get to one of the meets unfortunately they always seem to be when I'm at work ! I wouldn't mind but I only work 6 months a year on the 28 on 28 off rotation !!

    Cheers
