Things must be pretty bad at Lotus if he thinks that Sauber or Force India are safer options.

Interesting he has no options, no wins, no titles, played hard ball salary negotiations with Ferrari and lost and now is issuing ultimatums. He brake checked Grosjean in practice recently. Yes he is great but why the constant shifting of teams. More to the story??

The last thing he is doing is negotiating from a position of strength. He should be happy he is being considered to begin with. Lotus said they will not be in a rush.

Perhaps his managers are the same as Robin Frijns'. Awesome at destructing a promising drivers' career.

Ultimatum? He just drove one good race and he's already issuing ultimatum?

If he's serious to be in F1 for long, he should drive as cheap as possible and let his driving do his talking.

He should have been at McLaren rather than Perez to be honest.

    As I said when the "he shunned Ferrari" tale came up;

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142583994-post3.html

Dunno if it's him or his "management team", but sounds to me like he's on very thin ice - He *may* be as good as many here would like to believe, but he really hasn't done a whole lot to suggest to me he's the next KI.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

Bingo. The problem is Perez brings a huge check with him.

Sounds like he may have played his hand poorly...

I'd like to see him land with a top team just to see what he's capable of.

Claro video on the wing. Plus, there are rumors that Telmex is going to step in once Vodafone leaves.

Silly. I assume that's his management f'in up though. If that's true, I'd have sacked them after losing the Ferrari drive. Could've added a clause in the contract that if he got within X percentage of points of Alonso they'd be open for a higher salary the next year.

    That would make sense.

Although I still doubt that a team with the financial muscle of McLaren signs drivers for their sponsorship.

    Everyone does.
McLaren isn't sitting on a pile of gold. They're in deep with the new road cars.

The 12C doesn't seem to be selling all that well and they aren't holding value.

Big time title sponsors are hard to come by these days, even if you're fast. Ask Lotus. Unfortunately for McLaren, they picked a bad time to have one of their worst years ever.

    I agree.

How have you been Tony? :)

Anyways, that's probably the reason LDM didn't opt for Perez.

Carlos Slim, as in TelMex... not Perez himself. It's like congress man: money talks :D.
