    I know you're a big fan, Frankie, but I'm nto sure if I agree. Black 550s w/o shields are more discrete. Actually, I think most of the time the shield (esp. on the curvier newer cars) looks like an add-on rather than something m eant to be there (a la F40).

    I think they're great on every Ferrari. Not really neccessary but a nice extra on the car. Of course, they used to be ONLY for the racing cars but I think having them on a production car these days shows the pride about the history and it looks good too IMO :)

    the little cavallino chrome horse on the gas cap....is that a Ferrari option that is available now? or is it through some 3rd mkt dealer?

    I have seen certain chrome outside rear view mirrors on vintage cars with the cavallino embossed on the leading surface. Does anyone know if these were OEM on any cars?

    I think it's only on the Challenge Stradale... I've never seen it on another Ferrari...

    yup, the gas cap is just on the Stradale

    Hubert, just ordered the gas cap for my 360 spider from Heiko and would post picture as soon as it's done. it is suppose to fit all the 360's.

    Shields I love (the enamel/glass ones, not the resin ones).

    But that little chrome horse on the filler cap is....a bit much IMO.
