Hope nobody went out and bought one of those http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/18/hp-will-discontinue-operations-for-webos-devices/
oh dear...that's bad. i'd better buy one quickly...it'll become a collectors item and be worth big $$$ soon!
Yeah thats not good for them.... its probably why their RRP went from 599/699 for 16gb and 32gb, now to $499/$599 entire hp range, printers, laptops, desktops are 40% off rrp this weekend at harvey norman....
believe me, this puts them a long way below cost price, the only ones making money here are HP. if this keeps up, it wont be long before the big retailers go belly up.
Maybe they've got the same guys in to run it as run their main hardware store site, and so it goes down every time they add something new
I don't need my crappy ipad2 to do office **** so I haven't tested it but you can't ****ing read. Have a nice day.
Harveys are selling them off today for about $100 each. Amazing price for a tablet. Would make great stocking stuffers for Christmas...
you dont need 3g with wifi hotspot phones. there are apps available, all the real usage is already on it. mobile web browser, facebook, email, book reader, movies etc... if apple closed the app store would you think an ipad was valueless? dont stress though, they are all sold out. my store sold over 200 of them today.
Just saw this. Computers/laptops become obsolete very quickly hence why I would never spend $4k on a laptop when something better will come out in 6 months. At $2k, I MIGHT start thinking about putting my hands into my pocket, but it'd have to be bloody good. With Apple, the high price tag isn't the only thing that puts me off buying them. Apple has a habit of bringing out a new product, albeit at high prices, then when demand slows they bring out an improved version of it. All seems well planned out and a little too convenient to me.
If you spend the money on a better quality device in the first place, you'll find it stays usable for a longer period. My ThinkPad T43p (~$4K new in 2005) just had its heatsink/fan replaced, but is otherwise working fine. Sure, there's stuff a LOT faster (like my newer ThinkPads, for example), and they do all kinds of new and amazing things... but the old one hasn't somehow become less useful than it originally was. Corporation in profit-maximising strategy shock! Film at eleven
Wait for the new range of ultimate notebooks coming soon. They are similar to the Sony z series. Ultra thin, long life battery etc, i7 processors and all for ~$2k.
I cringe at the thought of spending more than $100 on a computer. The last two I bought were ex-company desktop Dell computers. One was $75 delivered, when it crashed I paid $115 for another one delivered to my door from Sydney. Nicole wants to replace the desktop computer she bought in 2005. She paid $4K back then and wants a new computer. I upgraded it to 4 gig of ram earlier this year and there is nothing wrong with it for what she wants to use it for. No point spending $2K or whatever on a computer that you will never get the most out of. Obviously different people with different needs and my $100 Dell computer suit me fine.
