I want another Jeep pretty bad but... in due time... Here's my old Renegade... before and after. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If I weren't in the middle there would have been a head-on collision between a Ford Windstar and a Dodge Durango. So my Jeep absorbed most of the impact instead. The other vehicles held 2 adults and 4 kids. None of the kids were hurt and minor scrapes to the others... For me, nothing serious at the time tho I can't ride in a crouched, sportbike position anymore; upright is ok. Here's the other side... Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's a bummer you can ride in the crouched, bike position, but the most important thing is that no one was seriously hurt. It's a real shame to lose the Jeep, but at least it did it's job in protecting you and everyone else. I hope you get a good replacement soon! Chris
Ouch. I once saw the twin to yours barrel roll down an interstate entrance...he took the curve way too fast...just like the warning sticker (and common sense) says not to do. I'm a Liberty owner...2WD, 4 cylinder, 5 speed, 125K+ miles...yo! Black Ops edition; very cool. There's one running around locally. I'd love to have a silver Unlimited Sahara.
The Black Ops is cool, personally I would get a Unlimited Rubicon with the leather interior vs the Black Ops cloth but nonetheless, cool Jeep. I would wait until 2012 when the Pentastar motor will be in these .. 283hp ... unreal motor.

Saw this on a dealer's lot yesterday. Interestingly the top is fixed in-place. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool Jeep. I want to build something like this to take my son crawling around the backwoods of CT. Will need a hardtop though to keep the black bears out So what mods you have on your Jeep ?
Very nice jeeps. I want one. I test drove two new Wranglers last night. They are too rough and noisy for me to use everyday but I'm looking for a cheap older one to use to pull my boat around and that I can sort of build/restore over time.
Buy a nice Grand Wagoneer. Easy to work on, and they'll pull just about anything. Shiny Side Up! Bill
or one of these, late 90's Grand Cherokee 5.9. very cool truck. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-JEEP-GRAND-CHEROKEE-LIMITED-5-9-EDITION-RARE-/170642233846?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item27bb11d9f6#ht_8133wt_1167
Only in 1998. Mines been a winter/spring snow machine, anytime hauler for the past 5 years. Run slightly oversized Winterforces and a 2" boost. Fun beast for $4k and about $500/yr maintenance. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
didn't realize it was a one-year car (makes sense though, as they upgraded the car in '99). I had a '98 with the 5.2L V8, and loved it. the standard by which I judge all SUV's.
My Dad has an old Cherokee. Thinking about modding that into a crawler. I'd prefer a CJ but I could get the CHerokee for free so...
nice - the 5.9 just has a bit more torque and about every option available. I think only the tow package and skid plates weren't included in it's $38k price. Viscous coupling is the week link, but only if you don't check tire pressures religiously. VC can destroy itself in miles if one wheel is out of synch. No other Grand Cherokee, or Jeep for that matter, really tempts me.
Thanks. I'll look around for something like those locally. Just to see what I could find cheap on the web I put a $5k top price and found a mid-nineties F250 with 50k miles on it for $2k that looks really clean in pics, looks like a brand new truck. The phone # goes to a fax machine. I guess I'll fax him. A wagoneer would be cool. There used to be one around here with big mud tires and the wood paneling on the side. I always thought it was funny. My uncle had a Jeep pickup truck that I really liked when I was young. It looked like a wagoneer front end but a truck. I wouldn't mind one of those either. As I look around the web at used stuff I keep finding things I would want to dump money into b/c I think they are cool. The GF doesn't agree. lol
Any idea how much it costs to ship a car across the US? If the bids don't go crazy I wouldn't mind taking a gamble on it. I see it has been wrecked but may not be too bad.
A couple of nice looking ones... http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/2317700489.html http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/2363607781.html http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/2372694412.html http://louisville.craigslist.org/cto/2371013218.html http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/2317487959.html http://fayar.craigslist.org/cto/2314218510.html http://memphis.craigslist.org/cto/2335342695.html Ok, more than a few... guess I was bored. Shiny Side Up! Bill
Only if it has 4-wheel drive. A definition Trail Rated and how Jeep classifies it (from JeepFan.com) TRAIL-RATED® CERTIFICATION from Jeep.com
The reserve wasn't met at $2450. I don't know if I would want to go much higher on a car I know nothing about and with high miles. How were the ones with the normal engine? I may be looking at a used Isuzu Trooper later. I don't know anything about them either but this one looks pretty clean. I am going to have to get something to pull my boat pretty soon. It will only be used locally within an 8 square mile area.
