That was my first guess, but then thought the mouth was rounder. Thanks for the correction. Anybody on here own it?
Btw, there is no reason for that car to appear in this movie in that scene. Never mind that nobody would drive their million dollar car to the airport to take a flight - where do you leave it? Add to that, that only about 1 in 10,000 people is going to recognize that car and understand its value. So if they wanted to indicate he was wealthy they could use a more recognizable model. But they don't even show the badge! Don't get me wrong, I love seeing these cars in movies, but this one just seemed superfluous. Only thing I can imagine is that it's a vanity thing - does Downey collect? Is it his car? Does it belong to one of the producers?
His character did mention that he drove a Ferrari earlier in the movie, so it made sense to show one.
Not Downey's. I'd absolutely drive that car to the airport...If I had a private jet and/or owned a property nearby. No question -- life is short and it's best to enjoy these things. I don't think it's superfluous to the story or character either. This movie is for an older demo (more likely to appreciate what a car like that means) and the need to know explicit value is not necessary. It's old, unusual, beautiful, a convertible and, thus, probably special. That' speaks to the character in a way that's more nuanced than just "he pulls away in expensive car." IMHO, of course.
well he takes a commercial flight, but maybe he has his own private garage at the airport.... its so subtle that less than 1% of the movies potential audience would know what it was. so if they were aiming at us, then bullseye. everybody else, likely missed it. i am all for driving interesting cars, lest my carefully filled out profile be overlooked.... all i am positing is that for this movie, and shown the way it was, it may fit from our perspective, but nobody else gets it. so, now back to the mystery....which lucky dog here got his car into a movie?
I was shocked when I saw this car, I believe there were only 3 made in this color. My boss owns one of them
While I can't say how many currently wear a shade of light metallic blue, there are certainly more than three. And yes, your boss Anthony owns one of them: 275 GTS s/n 07235.
I saw the movie on a flight back from Ireland last week and noticed the car. I also couldn't figure out why he'd drive it to the airport-not what you'd leave in long term parking.
A professor at Rice University here, drove one of those and routinely left it, in a surface lot on campus, for many years. I haven't seen it in a decade or more.. But yes, some people considered it "a car"....
