Presumably Ferrari. James Allison is not the designer of this car, the 2015 car will be. If they're anything like the E20 or E21 they'll be in good shape...
It's quite amazing how the Kimi haters, and Massa lovers, always overlook the FACT that Kimi won a world title with Ferrari AND beat Massa in 2007. Massa had no real problems beating Kimi? Then it would be Massa with the world championship. FACT, Kimi beat Massa.
Kimi did ok. There isn't really more to say. Even if Alonso only managed 8th, he was again the one showcasing racecraft. Unfortunately Magnussen doesn't know how to handle himself yet in direct combat and Vettel ran his front wing to pieces.
It's a pity the Ferrari is just crap. I think the setups are slowly suiting Kimi. Or, he's suiting them.
I guess we have to give him some credit. Kimi really finished 6th if LH had not been taken out and Ferrari had stopped stuffing with Alonso's car. But yes better than his normal stuff. Pete
During the race broadcast, Coulthard made an interesting point - Alonso has never won at Spa, Kimi has won 4 times at Spa. Spa is considered one of the premier drivers circuits, where driver skill can make a big difference. You don't win Spa 4 times if you suck as a driver. So there, Kimi haters!
Yep....and ALO likely finishes 3rd or 4th if not for team problems beyond his control -- even down on power as he was.
I won last week in Real Racing 3..in a Pagani Hyuara vs the Buggati Veyron. Can't imagine my potential.. In all seriousness, i think Kimi is finding it better at Ferrari now. The car is still massively down on power, but he did bang in some really superb lap times. If they actually listen to him, build a car to his liking, and also really powerful car next year, he's gonna cost lots of problems to everyone..
What is a drivers circuit? I believe it relates to a circuit that has real fast and challenging high speed corners. I personally love this sort of circuit but I used to find it interesting that my club racing peers did not always agree. Some liked the tighter circuits that required much more effort to get a good lap time by constantly working and working. So what you are saying is that Kimi likes fast circuits. Fair enough but that also hints at the fact that he is naturally talented and not prepared to put the effort in on the other circuits and that is where Alonso wins everybody over because he just works and works and never gives up. Another brick in the wall from Jacky Eckelhardt, who was Kimi engineer for his beginnings. Sorry for this being in French. L?analyse de Jacky : ?Le retour de Kimi et le cadeau de Mercedes à Red Bull" - F1i.com Basically, he was asked why Kimi has been suffering so much this season, said that the answer is probably not an easy one but that he suspects (as said by others, notably Romain Grosjean) it is indeed coming from an "indifferent" front axle on the F14T. That Kimi needs the sharpest, lightest and most precise front axle possible to deliver and that he always hated understeer, even for his first test with Sauber at Mugello when Eckelhardt saw Kimi oversteering slightly at 240 km/h and proposed to correct this, and Kimi refused saying that "I don't want any correction that would bring the slightest degree of understeering". James Allison is of the same opinion (remember that he had to work for some weeks on the Lotus at the beginning of 2012 to give Kimi the feeling he wanted from the front axle) but that not much could be done on the F14T. Rgds
FA is all about a dead front end that understeer like a dump truck . People like shoe are all about the front end all be plug and the rear end being loose kimi imo is the same as most f1 . Fred has always been slow in the wet because he can't drive a loose rear end . The real problem for Ferrari is that they don't have there own tire company LikeRenault r with Michelin
Yesterday at a demo Kimi's car broke down (I think a 2012 or 2013 Ferrari F1). I don't see him buying any lottery tickets any time soon...
Luck has nothing to do with it. I heard a rumor that the Ferrari factory mistakenly sabotaged Kimi's demo run because they are so used to doing so for Grand Prix races that they couldn't break the habit.
This isn't true. Alonso doesn't really care, which is why he's fast in every car he's in. He just drives it the way it wants to be driven. In his Renault days, the car liked heavy steering inputs but he hasn't driven a car like that since, so his driving style looks completely different to then. In reality, he has no driving style, he adapts to the car instead of the other way around. Is this better for car development? I don't know, but it could be if you just go for speed and are not hampered by any preference for understeer or oversteer or 'steering feel' or what have you. It could be bad if you can't provide any information on how to make the car faster. I will say that I doubt a two time WDC provides bad feedback on a car, especially the driver that ended the Schumi/Ferrari years.
Today.... in Italy.....in front of the Tifosi.....at Monza.....Kimi sucked! and his replacement, Felipe Massa, was on the podium- loved by the crowd. The end.
I have always been glad Kimi was on the F1 scene, but how could anyone rational not admit that Bottas, Vettel, Ricciardo, or either Mercedes driver wouldn't have gotten more out of the Ferrari this year than Kimi has? He's just consistently failing to get the max out of the Ferrari.
