Ferrari should get the Hulk and make him develop Ferrari's Lmp1
Bottas goes to Ferrari next year, Kimi is sacked: F1: Ferrari, Bottas al posto di Raikkonen - Corriere dello Sport
There might be a technical difference, but in both cases it boils down to "We don't want you any more".
I thought a bump of this thread is in place Again, this "exceptional driver who surely is among the quickest in the field" failed, again....
Good recovery from a poor start. Arrivabene said something about Kimi's fingers slipping. Onboard shows him releasing the clutch, but not biting. You have 2 ''clutches'', with your fingers...one basically with another finger underneath it as ''part 1'' of the start, and with your other side you slowly release later on. I've no idea what he did wrong or how he managed. Certainly he's been one of the better starters all season. My heart sank. In a way he and Max where the only ones to provide us with any form of entertainment.
But hey, whatabout the 2nd coming that is Hulkenberg once again beaten by Perez...Bottas again not doing much. Like it or not, Kimi remains a good option for another season.
+1 OK, he was passing Mcsplutters & Renaults - not hard , but he also went by almost everyone else too..... Damn good drive IMO. +1 Cheers, Ian
Brilliant qualifying, a terrible start, and a great drive to recover lost positions. The commentary here on NBCSN is nowhere near as good as the BBC. They kept saying that Raikkonen bogged down on the start, but that's not right. When you bog down, it's a low RPM get away but the car still moves. When you almost stall, the car seems to lurch for an inch before the anti-stall kicks in. The bizarre thing about this incident was that the car initially didn't move at all, even though it looked like Raikkonen released the clutch, and it seemed like he grabbed at the clutch trigger several times before it finally engaged. It'll be interesting to find out whether it was a driver error with the complicated mechanism for releasing the clutches or whether there was an electronic mishap that, for a moment, prevented the clutch from engaging at all. The drivers set off in F1 cars so many times that I find it difficult to accept that any of them could get the start procedure so wrong. All the best, Andrew.
I think it's safe to assume kimi got it wrong with the new start procedure. If cars had no radios and no buttons, just a wheel and two pedals he'd be probably triple champion already.
