    Is this enough? ;)

I think I will sell it sooner or later, as I will go with the early set on that car.

Man, I'm brain damaged. My engine, fully serviced with an engine out service less than two years ago, doesn't turn so perfectly as it should. Three cylinders have a lower compression ratio than the others so the engine doesn't turn so smooth as it should.

So I just sent the car to Toni Auto in Maranello to be fully rebuilt inside too: valves, sliders, pistons, bearings and so on. The inside of the engine is the only part that wasn't fully rebuilt.

After this work it will be completely nut and bolt restored also inside the engine and will work like new, or even better and faster, I hope. It will have state of the art CPS pistons of course.

The ODO will set to zero.

    I will keep you posted!

    ciao

    The brain damaged man ;)

You are right. I'm very happy with Toni shop: the price is correct, they know very well the cars, they know what to do and the correct way to do it and they very often already did the same work many times before. And they work with high quality too. I don't want to say that you are happy to pay, but such a good work doesn't make you too sad when you have to pay. And, another plus, if you need an almost impossible to find OEM spare part, maybe they have it. And, this is what I like more than anything else, they keep their spare parts deposit just for their customers: they don't sell the parts directly, so they are available for your big restore when you decide to start it.

    ciao

Today Toni shop started the engine rebuilding, in the inside: the odometer will be set to zero, as then the car will be all new.

They will also remove and change the wrong fuel pump that costed me a red line on the Classiche certificate.

Picture is the car lifted for the engine removing, this afternoon

Now I can finally put the original (fully serviced) fuel pump on the car and have the Classiche certificate without the red line saying "Not original item" under the fuel pump picture.

Why does that fuel pump look so different than the ones I am used to seeing on our cars? Is it because they changed pumps by 1980? My car is '77 and it has the loud Bendix/Facet fuel pump.

I'm sorry I don't know: My mechanic did everything. That's the correct one here, confirmed by my mechanic and by Classiche too.

... and my 1979 GT4 too has had the "loud Bendix/Facet fuel pump" and was marked red at the classiche Certificate "not original".

Now I've installed the correct "silent Fispa" to erase the red mark at the Certificate - see picture.

So the change must have been End of ´77 / beginning of ´78 from "loud" to "silent" ?

    Any suggestions ?

Markus , i am not sure , but i think the original fuel pump was always silent Fispa , ,Bendix -facet may be aftermarket.

FISPA? Up to now I thought all original carb car pumps were BCD Corona like mine.

There are two different Types of the same pump.

    1. with only one power cable (minus from body) shown on Albertos pictures
    2. with two cable accesspoints (plus and minus) lke my pump built in in my 1979 GT4

Both pumps have the same body and are the same type , IMO "Fispa" but I could be wrong, because I don't know exactly.

This pump is a BCD Corona. Also on my pump there's just one cable for +12V. Ground is taken from the clamp via a wire to the frame. Direct ground is not possible, since the pump is isolated from the frame via two rubber silent blocks to reduce pump noise.
Would love to take pictures, but my lift is occupied by my Alfa at the moment.

    Best Regards
    Martin
