Who on here currently has a new F430 Spider with an F1 transmission on order with Foreign Cars Italia? Can you please tell me what position number you are (were) on their waiting list at the time of order?

Are you on the list?. A friend of mine was supposed to be on the list and was originally expected to pick out options and colors this month with an anticipated vehicle delivery next year in the second quarter. I don't know his number. Last I heard, the transmission problems would delay the scheduled time frame but I have not heard what the new schedule is. Have you heard something about their list?

Neither me or my dad is allowed to know what spot he is on the list, apparently. Even though I go to FCI daily.

    FCI, I want an F430 Spider! I know you're reading this ;)

We're in the second quarter of '06 now. Why would FCI want your friend to pick out options this month for an anticipated delivery an entire year from now?? All of the dealers I've talked with do not take their customer's orders until the factory is ready to begin building the car with a build time of roughly 3 to 4 months out, regardless of any transmission or other problems.

I have been monitoring Sport Auto's website for quite some time...Gallardos have been selling like crazy!! Much faster than the Ferraris. I agree. The Gallardo is a great car. Besides, like most others, I would not have been able to get in the que for a 430 anyway, and there was no way I would pay 40K over sticker for a titled car. But you can order a Gallardo NOW with the options you want.

It looks and sounds so good I can understand them selling well. The car also seems to go well around the track (smoked by my 355 several times at VIR). Does an active club exist for the marque?

We are trying. the problem is the older cars ( countach, diablo, muira, etc etc ) seem to not be driven at all by their owners. The Gallardo and Murcielago are changing that. Currently we are busy converting Ferrari owners to Lambo owners so we should have a good group of enthusiastic owners with Lambos that will drive them.

If you are even considering an F430...you MUST drive a Gallardo first.

Steve, there are SEVERAL older Lambos that are driven regularly! Both fly yellow Muiras that we look after, an Espada, a pair of Countachs and a 400 GT, among others. I guess that's not a LOT, is it? <grin>

Steve, this thread is NOT about which product is better, the F430 or the Gallardo. There are several other threads around on that topic which you can use to solicit your opinion on that issue.

What I want to know is for those who have recently ordered or purchased a new F430 spider from Foreign Cars Italia; what was your # on their waiting list at the time FCI took your order???

There are no 'spots' on the list, just bags of cash.

FerrariBob - Unfortunately the gentleman above (iceburns) is 100% correct.

A - There is no list.
B - If a list exists, the pecking order is going to be changed quite often.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I am not one to dance around an issue. It is, what it is.

    Good luck.

How do you know iceburns is correct? Are you an F430 customer or an employee of FCI? Do you have a deposit with FCI for an F430?

I have another question to add to FerrariBob's list. How many F430's has FCI sold. My friend still has not been contacted about picking out options and based on FerrariBob's previous comments he probably won't be until late this year or early next. Which is certainly not what he was told. Further, the time line he was originally given was before anybody knew the 430 Spiders were going to come out as early as they did. FCI has had his deposit for close a 18 months. Is that normal?

My dad's had one for five years. I think I qualify as an expert in the field of waiting. :)

Steve, Someone in this thread mentioned transmission problems on the 430. Do you know anything about a problem?
