Well, here is the PF I had been chasing for a while... YES! 1157 GT! Is there a registry for PF's? How is it going to compare to the GTE I used to have? Oh I love this... Better pictures and more questions will come! Cheers, Julio Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
ken, That is a very, very big question. I have no answer for now, but I lean towards keeping it white.
web.mac.com/ferrari250pfcoupe According to: http://web.mac.com/ferrari250pfcoupe/250PFCoupe/1157.html, you bought this new in 1959?
That was my father. Now I have two of his Ferraris; three more to go. Thanks for the registry info! Cheers, Julio
Congrats Julio. There have been sexier Ferraris but none are so softly chic as this model. It would be interesting to hear more about the purported 128 LM block--- per Jean Guikas' advertisement. Thanks. PS. you must get the proper RW-3526 Route Borranis for it. They will transform the car. john
Hi John, Thank you. I will definitely submit Mr. Guikas's 128 LM block story to Fchat, and I also have to check my father's documents further. We will be in touch. How are the Borranis incorrect? Cheers, Julio
http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49144&highlight=250+pf Congratulations Julio. I think the car looks great in white. I posted about this car a while back.
Julio, Those look like 6.5x15 wheels, probably from a 330. Your car is a Series I PF coupe and it should be wearing 5.5x16 wheels. Some Series I PF coupes, Series I Cabriolets and LWB Cal Spyders had the brake conversion treatment. Typically, the car's original RW-3264's would be swapped with RW-3526's. john
It is possible. The few factory conversions I have seen, like 0943GT shown here, received the RW-3526's. The problem is (or was) that the comp 250 SWB's also came with these wheels. Before coming into spotlight, the poor PF coupes seem to always serve as donors for the higher echelon Ferraris. It is possible that your car came with the wheels it wears now, but it is also possible that the rarer 5.5x16 wheels it had were taken from it in exchange for a more common type. Who knows? In any case, you can see the improved stance of the car with the 16 inch wheels here. john Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Vaya era Tu!! pues si que es una buena sorpresa! espero que un dia asas por la costa Blanca para acer algunas fotos. Felicidades! es precioso.
Beautiful looking car; looks stunning in white and I do not generally like white cars. It does look better in my opinion with the 16 inch wheels, gives the car a better stance. Must be a great past time to try to re-own the cars your dad once owned. It would be very cool for you to own them. Sort of like back to the future. Saludos Alberto
