Schumacher never went on about his fans being ''the best fans ever'' at every single opportunity.

KTU: For starters, Schumie is German.

And his second home is Maranello, not Goodwood.

He also never made very public claims that "British fans are the best" or "I try to do everything I can for my British fans" or "I'm always there for my fans" or "I love giving back to my fans for all their support" and so on and so on.

And oh, again, he's German not British!

If i were to name a list of none British drivers at Goodwood it would be a loooonnng list. Thats because the Goodwood is a global event. If it were a British only event, Ferrari along with 100's of different manufactures and drivers would'nt be there.
Also my question was designed to answer without reffering to Hamilton, so lets pretend its 2006.

In defense of Hamilton, I would say that he tries to give his best to his fans ON THE TRACK and he often succeeds.

I am no fan of him either, but he is the most successful British driver we ever had, and by a long shot too. I recognise that.

That's what matters, not his musical tastes, his dress sense, his jet set friends, or even his mood.

I find it a bit tiresome that people use any opportunity to tarnish his character, and exploit every angle to dismiss his achievements.

Now it's him missing Goodwood for Winbledon; tomorrow it will be something else. It's very bizzare, to say the least.

Many other drivers may have attended Goodwood plenty of times, and so what ? What does that prove?

How the hell did you take away from my post that I alleged Hamton was at fault for Schumacher not attending Goodwood?

As to your reframed question, it was answered very specifically above. I don't know how to make it any more clear than I did. I give up.

All the best,
Andrew.

If I was a moderator I would give you the advice to put him on ignore :D

But are you guys seriously still sure that he is not related to a former (banned) member of this forum?
Opening a sideshow about Schumacher, Vettel, Stewart or Senna when running out of arguments sounds way to familiar....

Why are we talking about the Goodwood event itself now?

What I was trying to get at is that Schumie had no loyalties to the greater British fan base like Hamilton does or proclaims.

And of course at any event like Goodwood or Pebble Beach or whatever you get a mixed bag of attendees, but Goodwood is a predominantly Brit-attendee event and manufacturers attend to display their wares+heritage for that community. duh. ie so if hamilton was what he says he is he'd make an effort to be in attendance for at least 1 of the 4 days for "his fans who he is so grateful for" ie he's full of sh!et

So you think he sometimes climbs into his car actually thinking he is not in the mood to drive and would prefer to have a Sunday barbecue with his friends and the victory means nothing to him.... just to rethink that he has to pull it off for his fans so he does go out although unmotivated???
That is complete nonsense....as soon as the drivers sit in their car they race for themselves and do not think a second about their fans. They are racers and want the best result. Hamilton for example wanted to park the car in the past when things go wrong, he did not say I have to continue "for the fans"...And he is not different from others in that category. So this might be the weakest excuse in a list of excuses here in the thread.
So because he wins for Britain and has some success this is enough for you to not question anything about him??? And because he is overwhelmed with money makes a difference because you value people by their income???
So if this is all that matters you will allways follow the winner and you will always be on the winners side. Congratulations if that does work for you, others might have other standards...I do not support anybody I do not like no matter how good he might be in what he does.
And here you are wrong.... some people can differ between "his achievements" (whatever they are) and the personality... because a successfull ******* remains an *******, maybe with more money and followers but still an *******. You on the other hand give him a free ride for everything because he is successful...

Fortunately some people think different than you because otherwise everybody would blindly follow the one winning at the moment....

Let´s put it this way: Schumacher did visit the Goodwood FoS about as often as Hamilton the Ferrari Race Days in Germany ;)
Both not really their key target of a fanbase :D

BTW: Valtteri in Goodwood: https://barchetta.mediacenter.pro/?v=t&i=3638115

Why? I'm just respectfully asking a question. Heck i'm not the one who started Goodwood talk. I just stated that i like Schumacher, Senna too. The best answer i got was that Schumacher is German. Thats why he was'nt at Goodwood to drive his Ferrari's in front of his fans. To me, him being German is not a valid reason to not ever attend Goodwood, but if you disagree, fine.

No, i don't get being German is a reason not to go to Goodwood when you are a F1 icon and your manufacture is there. I'm open to hearing other reasons that make more sense

Last time: Schumacher never said " i do it all for the best fans in the world" and miss the biggest event in his home country!!! Neither did he say that nore is Goodwood his home crowd. If you come up with this once more this is only the final proof that you are trolling as nobody can ignore that that often, Neuro explained it, freshmeat did and now I did again...

Maybe I should have posted this question in a different thread because people keep injecting Lewis in their answer. My intention was for the question to be answered as if Hamilton never existed. Anyway thanks Freshmeat for giving the answer that he is German. I won't expect anymore reasons. I'm done with it

I have no dog in that fight, but You will get yourself banned soon, mate.
Your insistance in having the last word in this argument will be seen as trolling, believe me.

Yea, there's no winning this particular point, Ktu.
When people don't like someone they often won't like anything they do, and automatically ascribe the most negative and cynical motivations to every action.
If Lewis had attended Goodwood, people would have either a) said nothing or b) interpreted as just another act of meglomania - "getting his ego stroked by all his sycophant fanboys" etc, etc.

I have a question...

What if Lewis wanted some photos taken privately ,of himself /cars/friends whatever? With a pretty hefty fee involved.

Would an experienced photographer ,who happens to dislike Lewis for whatever reason ,still take the $$$ for the assignment?or would he stick to his 'standards' and decline to take the $$$? ;)

The photographer Darren Heath (F1 Magazine) is a big time Hamilton nit-picker (and all around creep imo), but of course he still put Lewis on the cover of his latest photography book

I have a question....

How many people here are really in that comfortable position that they can chose who to work for or with? I am sure EVERYONE over here had to work with someone in the past he did not like. Just because you work for him does not mean that you do have to like him. And most likely after working with him you would either change your opinion because he is different in private or you feel confirmed because he is exactly how you expected....

nevermind the fact that the general British public HATED Schumacher in his prime, for crimes against Hill and his refusal to speak to British press for X years.
