Finally got the lift installed today.

What a great addition to the garage. Tim from Island Equipment (631-226-2838) did the whole job perfectly!! I would highly recommend his services to anybody even comtemplating a lift. He supplied, delivered, and installed my lift complete.

I think Todd (TTG) would second my feelings based on his dealings with Tim.

I attached some pics for you guys to see!

Any questions, drop me an email.

nice, are you going to raise the door? I would think to get it any higher the door tracks have to be raised like TTG did?

    Tom,

Yes, the door is going to be raised. Actually the garage door people had to order the parts which should be delivered in about 2 weeks! Then they will schedule my job.

Its nice because I have 11' 6" ceilings with no obstructions so I will be able to
raise the lift all the way!

    Thanks,

    Rick

I was gonna ask the same thing. I would think you would want to do that before the lift went in.

    Joshua,

I actually had the same concerns, however the fellow who came to estimate the door work advised me that all his work could be completed either before or after the lift was installed.

He has done numerous installs for lift owners so
all he requires is to pull the car out and lower the lift.

I will post some additional pics once the door work is finished.

    Regards,

    Rick

    Thanks guys!

I figured that based on the previous owner I better get the lift to make sure the bottom of the car stayed as clean as when I bought it!!

I will be heading over to his house with the white glove, and the Gin, to check on the new 355 spyder (hint-hint!)

    Regards,

    Rick

Very nice Rick...you will love it! And yes the Fiorano has already gone through the white glove test on the under carriage. You can't help yourself in cleaning underneath b/c that is all you see when you pull your daily drive in and out under the 328.

One thought or suggestion...are you going to paint the garage walls or more importantly the floor?...you'll see...the project just kept snowballing for me. First the lift, raising the doors, then the flooring mats, then the workbench, then better lighting, etc....In fact, while I am in CA right now, the floor is being repainted, the walls spackled and repainted a different scheme...and yet ANOTHER gin mill is being installed!!! (only kidding)

Talk to you soon...when I come up for air.

    Todd

The lift is actually made by Gemini. From all the research I did it appears that they make lifts (American made) for a number of companies that put their names on them. Tim from Island Equipment really gave me the whole story on lift manufactures. He has been working with not only the small lifts but commercial units for many years. Has a wealth of knowledge!

It was much easier to have him supply the lift and do the install. As you can see from the pics he brought all 1600 lbs of parts on a trailer, off-loaded and assembled the lift and was out by noon!

Todd, glad to hear the garage (or should I call it a clean room!) it having a makeover. Only wish mine looked half as good as yours does.

Yes, after the garage door is finished I will at probably paint the walls and floor. Not sure about the tool box yet! I kind of live by a motto: If I turn a wrench on any vehicle, or aircraft, I won't get in it!!

Talk when you get back form CA.
