The old man has been thinking and in my family everybody says, " Oh Oh, Watch Out !" Well, I realized that after reading posts by Russ and Taz and others of whom I don't know of their service, I would like to say Thanks. In my family I have a son who is a Vietnam vet, a son who is a Middle east vet, a nephew who is an Irag Vet, a son who is a Germany vet , and a grandson who is in Bagdad as we speak. Even my Grandfather fought at Gettysburg as a Union soldier and is buried at Arlington. So, I realize what it is to lay it on the line for your country. Again! I say THANK YOU!

Bob, Brian- You both understand what Memorial Day is all about. Lots of white crosses in Luxembourg, France and Cambridge for brave souls who gave their all for us.

    Good post Bob.

Being the son of a WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam veteran, even though I never served, I have a good idea of what you veterans leave behind on the battlefield.

When I lived in Germany, my Dad took us to Point du Hoc and Utah Beach, where he had come ashore some 20 years earlier. Then we went to the American cemetary & memorial. It made an impression on me that I'll never forget. Row after row after row of crosses over the graves of fallen American soldiers. What those men did then, is truly remarkable.

Happy veterans day to all you veterans. Thank you.
