Objective 'before' testing I have performed shows noticeable improvements -Patrick can attest to this. Testing was as such: sit at 3500rpm in first gear - give it the beans and hit the timer - shut timer off at 7000rpm in 2nd gear. Before rebuild elapsed time: 5.5 seconds After rebuild with stock early cams: 5.0 seconds After build with P6 cams: 4.6 seconds Anyone can check this if they like. Simply go to my youtube vids and use your own timer. The vid with Patrick filming took 4.7-4.8 (can't see the tach but I know exactly what 7k sounds like). Without Patrick I have not made a vid :/ (Patrick, you complete me). Anyway, these are definite solid objective differences anyone can see. Just need to work out this mountain of other crap now.......
Ahh the old crash test dummy theory. I don't mind really lol. Part of the hobby I guess. I ordered size 35 pump jets (down from 45) which should lean things out in the acceleration phase. Idles are going to stay the same as the idle mix is great and the cruise mix is great at about 13:1 -13.5:1. Here's what I am going to do: 35 pump jets (obviously), add a degree or so more timing (37ish) at the high end once jetting is fattened up to 140 mains and 190 air correctors. I am thinking that should be about perfect. There is easily 10-15bhp hiding in this setup. So frustrated by the results yesterday I didn't even ask for the dyno sheet (he has them all saved on his computer anyway). All I saw was a mountain! garrr
