Ok, stupid question but I'm about to pour in the basic blue wiper fluid because at the end of the day, it squirts out into the windshield for the wipers clean whatever it is that you need cleaning - yet the California manual says to use a mixture of glass cleaner and water. I can't imagine basic wiper fluid will jam up the nozzle or wreck havok on the reservoir...

Is anyone mixing up windex and water in their lab coat or can I just use the good old blue?

I'm sure the dealer will sell you a bottle of it for $150 : ) Just add water.

I can't say definitively but what comes out of my car seems like ordinary windshield washer fluid -- which may well be water and glass cleaner anyway. I assume the dealer tops it off at the scheduled maintenances.

Excellent timing! My Cali squawked about wiper fluid this AM. Can I put in the cheap blue stuff I put in the wife's pickup truck or do I need Maranello-approved unicorn tears?!? [emoji6]

Tom, I've tried many different wiper fluids on my Cali and since middle of last year I started using the Sonax clear view which I'm still using and I'm satisfied with the efficiency it has removing bugs and windscreen incrustations. There is a dosage chamber (25ml) on the top which you fill by squeezing the bottle and you add 1 dose for each 2.5 Litres of water. The procedure I follow is when the wiper fluid tank is empty I fill it with water and add 75ml of Sonax clear which is more than what they recommend but I find out this dose works well.

I would assume the author of that section is only familiar with products sold in concentrate. That is how most in the industry buy it. We have an aversion to paying high prices for products that are 50% tap water.

Ready to use products have become so ubiquitous I am finding it difficult to buy some antifreezes in concentrate form. Hate to pay $10.00 per gallon for water.
