Lets see how Perez does for the rest of the season.
Button would be a candidate except "too old".

Ferrari is building up Kobayashi as Massa replacement. NOW it is time to make that move.

I've been for giving him every chance but the question is now or at the end of the season?

Well, I know what the (few from) Massa camp will say: Why throw out a proven and known driver with so much experience when Alonso needs any help he can get for the title. Better to not disturb the balance.

    My response:
Exactly because we know the current driver and how little support he brings it is now the best time to replace him with a new entity. If the new guy sucks for the rest of the season learning the ropes, that still won't make him less of a help than what Alonso has now.

Besides: I don't think it would take Kobi that long to learn and it would get him started early enough to be ready for the start of next season.

Massa has used up his welcome several crashes ago. Time to pull the plug before more than his ego gets hurt.

    Nope. It´s Hulkenberg.

Why else would he drive a Sauber?

Not saying that they aren't interested in the Hulk (they should) but Kobi has already driven the Sauber AND the Ferrari. Clearly a step ahead.

Massa won't be replaced before season's end, though it's interesting to contemplate Koby, Perez and Grosjean fighting for position. I think that the Hulk shot himself in the foot, the promise of an inside track to Ferrari via Sauber. McLaren possibly preferred him to Perez but the Hulk doesn't bring Mexican $. Jules Bianchi is on everyone's radar, I can't see that he needs more than a season or so before Ferrari promotes him.

Massa is just one of those tragic characters in F1, though he surrendered several positions late last season for Alonso. He drove very well in the second half of the season.

No, I don't think so. Canada may be the last straw. The team needs something to turn the season around and it's pretty clear Massa is dragging them down.

I think Massa is toast and I think he knew that when he pounded on the steering wheel today.

Just a few races ago he finished 3rd in Spain i think and everyone was singing praises. Relax. Let's see how he perform later on. Canada has always been a lottery.

I knew that kind of post was coming. The next one will be "let's just give him another year" and before we know it he is in the 2014 car.

Fact is the guy is inconsistent and his best days are behind him. Time for fresh blood.

This is silly. Massa has been doing well. He is having a string of bad luck with crashes, at least one of which Ferrari admitted was a technical glitch. Massa would have to perform poorly over next three races to be in any danger of being tossed.

Time to get Kobayashi in the car. Massa is single handedly destroying any chance Ferrari has at the WCC, just as he has for years.

He just hasn't been the same guy after his accident. He should have has the 2008 WDC but it just didn't happen. That's the way it goes sometimes. He needs to retire before he gets injured.

I thought the same thing when I watched that.

Even my girlfriend - the world's staunchest Massa fan - watched that and said "we'll, I guess he's done now."

I think if this season completely deteriorates I.e Alonzo ends up 4 5 or 6 in points and Ferrari looses constructor in 3 4 or 5 place. I think Ferrari is going to make a grab to clean the slate and try again to grab Seb. Alonso is great and my favorite driver but look what teams are beating up on Ferrari RB, Merc, lotus, and maclaren has to eventually come back at some point. Ferrari has to get fed up with decent performance but no championships in so many years.

I might be wrong but but if this season keeps going the way it is I think Ferrari will at least attempt a grab again. and seb can just break his red bull contract .

seb weber and ham and nico are 100% outperforming Alonzo and massa as a team. and lets be honest 16th to 10 or 11th isn't that impressive.
