On the other hand, Gilles was able not to attack Jody at Monaco and at Monza, when he was clearly the quicker of the two, and the fact that he played second field never took him any spark....i do belive that if a driver is quicker than the other, they wan´t always ask him to stay behind!!!.....although if Briatore is the man in charge, things can get pretty ugly if you are faster than his pretty boy....as Trulli found out and also Herbert....
Same for Ronnie Peterson at Zandvoort in 1978...perhaps this explains also why such men are still held in such high esteem almost 35 years later; "men of honor"...That still matters to me. Nevertheless, Nigel Roebuck put Carlos Reutemann in the same category. For those who haven't yet read Nigel's books, I highly recommend these (For what my recommendation is worth!)
There are still instances of sportsmanship today but it seems that the prevailing ethic discourages it. Would it be even legal for a team mate to hand over his car mid race? For all of the technical improvements I have to wonder if what we've lost in turning F1 into the global mega-sport/business it is today was worth it.
"I find your lack of pace disturbing" http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads20/lackofpace1334851998.jpg
LOLOLO, funny.....but if Felipe was indeed driving a 641/2 his lack of pace would be normal in 2012!!!
It's cute when your race engineer asks you whether you'd rather start 12th or 10th. "Good Felipe, just play with da car a bit today. Okay? No problem. Just have some fun out there. Good boy."
Race second stint: Alonso on primes, Massa on options. Massa all over the back of Alonso. So where was the call: "Ricardo, Massa Is Faster Than You". It's pretty clear that the team rules are that Alonso stays in front. Regardless. That let Ham catch up, and pass in the pit rotation. How can the team hope for team points, if they're only letting one driver drive. I'm curious to see how people will spin this one any way other than Massa having a much better race than Alonso.
How did he have a better race at 2 points vs 6? He was only marginally not invisible this race...which I guess is better than his usual habit of being utterly invisible.
He spent 20 laps chewing on Alonso's tail, wasn't allowed to pass, and people are annoyed that he gets fewer points than Alonso? Can we only count results between Alonso and Massa, when it's clear that those are set by team orders? Everything is invisible if we close our eyes. That's like saying Alan Rickman is a bad actor, because his character keeps losing in his movies. (With a spoon!) Ham didn't pass on track. He passed in the pits, because Massa wasn't able to use his stint on softs to pull away -- because he was stuck behind Alonso. Notice that Massa did as many laps on options as Alonso did on primes. The team's pit strategy is whacked.
Phil showed from the start that he still has the talent. But that was never the issue. Lets see if he can keep focus.
Yeah... But it's just a matter of time before he's replaced... Massa's stat's took a huge dip after his accident which appears that he's done as a Ferrari driver... He's just hurting the team's chances to get points for the manufactures championship. But who's going to take his place? I think Ferrari also has other concerns they need to address first, like improving their F2012 cars.... IMO huge dispoinmemt so far! Rob
"fernando, massa is faster than you" message is ban from team radio massa maybe can finish ahead of alonzo and hamilton if given the chance but surely it wouldnt happen certainly he didnt suck at this race for 2nd race in a row

It should I believe. Good teams have drivers that work and practice well together. Creating good habits and discussions about the job they have.
And we've seen Alonso working well with ... ... Massa? Er, no. ... Hamilton? WAY no. ... Fisi? No. ... Piquet? Bzzt! ... Er ... Um .... Anyone? I know! We'll just put Alonso in both cars. (Then he can nerf himself off the pit entrance. )
