I dont know why im posting this, but its a thought id like to share because the MC12 seems to be a "love it or hate it" kind of car... To me, the MC12 is NOT bad looking, but its not the best looking thing ive ever seen. whats the big deal? I cant stop looking at it. Im facinated by this car. Maybe its the colors, or the same, but different shapes, but every time i see a picture, or look at my little hot wheels car I cant stop looking at it! I dont know why, but i stare at it all the time, just looking... Maybe thats the sign of a good design thoughts? am i crazy?
One thing is the size of that thing, it is huge. And in my oppinnion the lower angle you look at it, the better it looks. It was funny when I for the first time saw the MC12 live, I tried to keep a nice little conversation up, but just stumbled on my words, you know in the same way when a man goes speechless when a beautiful lady steps in to the room. The other thing that I think is remarcable is that, after all it is so thouroughbred race car as it can be, yet looks very elegant and could be driven in a tuxedo to the monaco casino. Just so teasing, tempting, charming, elegant, pure, stupid... theres something about it, thats for sure.
i agree that the MC12 has a very interesting designs that draws you to look deeper and deeper into the details. i remember seeing the car and wow. you get fixated on one detail and then wow, another beautiful line pops up in your sight.
Definitely the MC12 is not the best looking car ever! But of the modern range of "Supercar" it comes closest to a race car. No Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche GT or anything else (with its own delivered engine and not a car with an engine from another manufacturer! I call this ones "Bastardo-Cars") can claim for that. I only drove it on a circuit but the owner told me that in town its horrible to drive due to its big size! Funny to mention: I had a conversation yesterday with a professional race driver who drove the MC12 and the stupid Ferrari FXX. He laughed and said there is no big difference between a MC12 (Stradale) and the FXX. And that clearly speaks for the Maserati. The FXX is the typicall Ferrari-rip-off!! Ciao! Walter
Talk to Classic Coach they're doing several of them. I wasn't under the impression that it was "show and display" but I'm no expert on those rules. Looks to be just plain dumb for the road, bigger than a XJ220. I always though the original pictures of the black one with the carbon fibre showing through were the best. With those nostrals it's reminiscient of "The Creature from the Black Lagoon". I'm surprised this much time has gone by and no one has responded to this comment. We'll see how much longer it goes.
Well, it's that kinda car that you have to see in real to love. Before I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it too. In real, it looks stunning. Probably more then an Enzo imho
I have never seen the MC12 in black untill now and all i have to say is... Wow.. The front bumper hood to the side it looks so awesome! I wish i could have the chance to photo a car like that.. -T
That white pearl color kills the aggressiveness of this car. On the other hand, it looks great in a Gallardo Spider, but for a MC12, dark colors look sooo much better.
And chassis and monocoque and suspension. The MC-12 is an Enzo underneath some maserati skin plain and simple. This walter character smells like a troll.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the monocoque is different from Enzo, it is purposfully built for MC12. Obviouse differences, Size, Targa.
Not correct! The internals are different! Also pistons and camshafts are different size and weight etc.! Don`t forget: the ENZO was made only for beeing a GT-car! The MC-12 was made for homologation a race car. So basic (!!) design has to be similar to the race version. And on a circuit the ENZO is a very loney "boy" when the MC12 is coming out of the sun....! Ciao! Walter
And this Walter-character tells you that the suspension geometry is different to the ENZO. Also shocks and geabox which is faster and more precise (it was developed after the ENZO was running!). And to get you more "trolling": the FXX is based --on the MC12!!! But for this you will never get confirmed by Ferrari S.p.A.! Are you the typicall Ferrari-"victim"?? Ciao! Walter
