The Michael Schumacher Career/Injury/Recovery Thread

I had a dream a few days ago and I was talking with Michael. I believe we had some laughs but I do have a faint recollection of telling him how much he is loved and respected. Crap I get a little teary just typing that.

 

Odd article: They make it sound like he is running out of cash yet if you do just a little bit of math he is ok financially twice over.

OTOH what doesn't sound good is his weight at just 45 kg.

 

The interest alone on $800MM would be more than enough to offset his medical bills. They are assuming his wife sold the plane and residence out of need versus lack of need for those items.

100lbs is definitely concerning...that would place him at about 60% of his weight as a driver

 

That he is continuing to improve, albeit slowly, is great news. What a fighter.

45kg, that's to be expected isn't it? No fat, no muscle mass to speak of...He is not a tall man either.

I have no reason not to believe in them just like aliens and since the human brain/mind/cortex is so misunderstood who can say what is real or unreal? The Matrix is real just like the abyss of perception, is it real or Memorex?

That's an extremely old article.

That's pretty normal. We lose our density and muscles the less we use them. And considering Michael has been pretty immobile, not really a surprise.

The wt loss would be muscle mass&fat. Even with the best of therapy the severly brain injured lose wt. You cant keep the body from deteriorating. I just hope he is not in the slightest aware of whats happening,and everyone around has his best interest in mind.

 

Hope is powerful but the physics about this do not sound good.

 

The fact that he remains with us is amazing. Most, regardless of the amount of wealth and care, just don't make it this long in that physical state. That he is still here tells me progress, albeit slow, is moving forward.
