Something quite similar happened here, and looks there is progress. Just for a read .. Nurse makes strides after waking from a coma - Nation | The Star Online
Did you even read the article. It is not the joyous event the headline touts. 2 years and no true information. I don't know Schumacher, wish him good things, but something other than "he is progressing and we are hopeful" hardly seems intrusive to a caring person.
Yes I did. She is making steps forwards, after having been told that the plug needs to be pulled because she won't wake up. No one says it's a case of waking up, learning to talk again and all will be butterflies from here on out. Every situation is vastly different. What we have heard is that small steps are being made (according to Sabine), we don't know in how far that goes.

I believe that every renouncement that is not from Sabine's mouth or a close family member...it's just rumors. Just that.
I disagree. If there's progress in his ability, that's great news. And I don't see why wishing him well is a bad thing. The problem is speculation and irresponsible reporting -- which happens way too often. The family's privacy must also be preserved. Let's keep the conversation to remembering that Michael and his family are in a tremendous battle and we wish them all the best.
Coming on the sad anniversary of the tragedy I can only say that I would trade away ever hearing anything about Michael's recovery if there was a way to convey to him the well wishes of so many of us. Forza Michael
Any progress will be reported by his wife. Yes, the converstion should be done with great tact and decorum.
When the accident happened, news was all over the place and there was plenty of speculation, even from respected news sources. This thread became more or less a repository for all news, it was very rare I saw a story that hadn't been posted here previously. Yes, there were some stupid posts and people getting bent out of shape in this thread (to this day it baffles me how far from reality any individual poster might be regarding the sad subject matter, but I digress). Overall if you read 4000+ posts, almost all of them are expressing sympathy and sadness to a Ferrari icon and his family in some form or another.
At this point i wish they'd shut it down and make a new one strictly devoted to positive well wishing comments. Nothing more regarding condition or outcome as that's no one else's business.
Don't the fans, whose eyeballs and interest and personal investment made him fantastically rich, deserve at least one truly substantive update in two years?
This is where it all goes wrong: when fans think they own their idol and that he owes them something.
I don't like the word "deserve" but I do think it would be nice for an update to happen. Even if it's "no change." I say this as someone with a huge fan base. Because of this situation, I've had a discussion with my husband that if anything were to ever happen to me like this, he WOULD keep fans informed. Like it or not, when you touch thousands, if not millions, of people, they DO start to care about you. Last night we had tornados in Texas and I awakened to no less than 500 emails/PMs from fans, wanting to make sure I was all right. They don't own me. They are invested in me. There's a big difference.
Exactly. If he did owe the fans something he paid it back by his actions on the track and elsewhere while he was an active driver. Once he retired fans were/are entitled to nothing.
Certainly one I could argue both ways...... In fact, I did a long time back, and got banned for my trouble! (OK, I got personal about it, & probably deserved it ) While we 'deserve' nothing, a little presser from Sabine on, say, the second annivesry, would have been 'nice' - Even if it said 'nothing new to report unfortunately, but Michael continues to fight, blah, blah.' As many have noted here, this thread continues to be the go to location for any updates, even its just more rumors, they'll probably get reported here long before anywhere else. I heard a rumor last year that he'd died - Came here to confirm that wasn't true. (May have even posted something to that effect herein). Personally, I very much vote we keep it open until something changes. Godspeed Michael, Ian
Nobody as the right to claim anything or even any information, however i cannot see any harm in giving the fans that pray for Michael, that support him the only way they can and keep wishing him well some king of information about his health, good or bad. I respect the family decision, but i think it would be a nice gesture to let us know a litle bit about him, and i don't see how this would hurt him or the family in anyu way. Wish you all the best Michael, Pedro
