True that Bunte once again made up a story. OTOH lets not forget that MS medical records have been offered to the media for just 60k and nobody published them. Codename Kagemusha

    Schumacher family can't win.

option 1: Give people information, speculation.

Option 2: Don't give people information, also speculation.

The more information they give, the more theories and arm chair experts give their opinion and papers will be full of pointless ''expert'' stories.

All we can do is hope and give our best wishes.

I've seen that one before and it is pretty moving. MS's career really embodies the emotion and passion of Ferrari.

It pretty much shows how much the team respects and love Schumi. I said before, Schumi is the only driver i can think of that used modern management to rally the team. He was always positive, refused to criticize the team in public (remember Japan 2006) and always motivated them to go further.

He stuck with them through thick and thin, and resulted in 6 championships. I think we should be very lucky we all managed to witness something like this in our lives. The way todays divas acting sorry F1 drivers acting, i doubt we will ever see something like MS again.

    COMPLETELY AWESOME.

Only one change I would have made. The sound track should have included the cheering crowd and the high-pitch growl of the Ferrari engine.

I'm convinced that commenters who called Schumacher a "robot" were just lazily reciting national stereotypes against all evidence.

They couldn't actually have been paying attention to the races or else they'd have noticed that Schumacher was perhaps the most animated and emotionally expressive F1 drivers of his generation. He was more visibly elated after every win than most first-timers.

Breaks my heart about Shumi! IMO, there is not a driver running F1 today that equals Michael!

    I respectfully disagree.
I wish him the best recovery possible but I disagree with putting him on a pedestal.

PS: I feel similarly about Jobs. I guess we have different heroes. :)

    Fair enough.....

+1 on the first part, but surely if anyone deserves to be put on a pedestal, it's him?

I'm not much of a 'stats' guy, but his record suggests, to me at least, that he's the GOAT..... I wouldn't/couldn't 'choose' between him, Jimmy and/or Ayrton - all legends worthy of pedestals IMO!

    :)

One reason why we have these debates!.... It's all good!

    Cheers,
    Ian

MS is the GOAT based on stats. No question about it. And in all likelihood will keep that title forever.

I actually am a big believer in stats. Otherwise we are back to judging like figure skating or diving at the Olympics. Yes there is good luck and bad luck and circumstances and all that, but when the chips are down and counted, it is the guy with the most stats who wins and that's MS. And winning is the point in F1 and he has that down pat, be it in WDCs, races or whatever.

I was objecting to the feel-good posts about him as a person. I think he was deeply flawed as a person, particularly on the track. And I do think there are hugely successful racers out there whom I'd put on a person based pedestal first. Just my 2 cents.

PS: I think the same about Jobs. Probably the biggest computer/sales/visionary genius who ever lived and he played the game to perfection. But not the kind of guy I'd like to have as a boss or over for a beer.
