could not have put it better! there will always be the wannabe's who spend more time wanna's and less time being!
na you can't drive a house around.I'm thinking of selling my home in "Far Kew" and buying a big stinky Sunseeker!
i dont need or want one. I just a want a 400i or an early roller so i can turn either one into a farm ute
well i think of the mondial in the same light, if i can find a decent one (was there ever one made) i would turn it into a ute in reverse
I remember seeing one in for service at JA's once. It had the owners chainsaw sitting on the leather seats as he had just come back from the farm. I think he might have come up with the idea before you.
well i want something exotic as a farm ute, the roller would be great but a 400i with the sloppy GM aussie made tranny would be a hoot, anything rear engined is a bit hard, i do have a pic somewhere where i used the TR as a ute for carrying hay bales in the front
The 400i's cost too much too fix when something goes wrong. A mondial cab would fit the bill nicely I guess; but not a nice drive. Feels like you are driving a bus "all aboard ding ding"
what could go wrong with a 400i, the donk crap itself, then i would stick a chev350 under the bonnet, it would mate right up to the turbo 400 tranny
Easy! Go back and read my origonal posts, #5 & #23 Here is part: "The ONLY deal on the table is a straight swap with the Benz." & "NOT up to me, its his call, the deals on the table, straight swap with a Benz, nothing else on offer, won't be outlaying any coin for it." Could/nt bust him down, i don/t think he is ready to sell [swap], let him keep it another 2 years parked in his carport, no tears shed on my side. I don/t collect vehicles, only money. BTW, hows your Ferrari going? Thanks for your constant attention, i appreciate it! Ciao M
Yeah, love those.Proud the Aussie's have made a world-class sportscar. @ $120k NOT interested, its way over the odds. My gut feeling it should be a $75k vehicle, max. maybe less. If the right 2nd. hand vehicle comes along at the right price........? Ciao M
a straight swap under your terms is not what one would call a "deal", it's a non event and what sort of Mercedes is on the table?
I don't have a Ferrari. I never said I did and am most likley not going to get one. I am fortunate to have some good friends with Ferraris and have been able to both drive and passenger in some very nice cars. "World-class sportscar" - based on what? "Love those but @ $120k it's way over the odds" Yeah, I'd love a 246 Dino but they're way overpriced. Maybe a good one for $75k but not for $300k. 2nd hand? Wouldn't they need get them through ADR and to start selling them first? You really should talk to some of the people who worked at Elfin with Garry Cooper. Most believe that he would be horrified with these glorified kit cars coming out of Melbourne.
well you can drive mine, so long as it stays non inverted on its roof, and you are correct Mr Cooper would be horrified, from the Edwardstown launch pad to some Mexican burb near that hi class place called sunshine and this Mercedes thing must be fairly current model because they drop like Jag's in price so a straight swap would mean something in the order of 2004 +, even so a Benz is only popular in the subdivisions, its lost its appeal in a decent burb
