I've had my Lancia Fulvia Coupe for nearly 7 years and it made a fun car for the commute to work in summer. A bit slow off the mark but when you get that little V4 reving it flys. It was a pretty little car.

But over the last year or so I've had the urge to buy another car. Since I moved to a new house last year, I now only have garage space for 2 cars (the Range Rover sits outside all year round) so either the 328 , the Lancia or both, had to go.

I looked at everything (and I DO mean everything) from 512BB's, Countachs, 512TR's, Testarossas, early 360's, a beautiful GT40 replica, Aston DBSV8, Porsche 356's, Jaguar XK120's and E Types, even a really ratty old Daytona(man that would have been a dream, but it was too expensive :( and needed a lot of work) Most of these would have meant selling both cars, but decided to keep the 328 and I kept comming back to one car that has always fascinated me since I was a kid.

I picked it up yesterday and I love it. It is not the most powerful, but it corners like no other car I have ever driven. The exhaust note is perfect, like half a V12, the looks are outrageous, but people love it (perhaps they are just scared of it ;)) I've had it for less than 24hours and already bits are falling of....don't you just love italian cars ;)

Any ideas what the new car is? I've given some clues in the thread.

    Congrats! :D

Too bad the Lancia had to go... but I have a feeling the replacement makes up for that pretty well :)

So your new toy should be one of these...? http://www.zagato.it/uklistzc.htm :D

I don't think it will be the 2005 Lancia Ypsilon Sport :D

I'm ruling out half of the list build before 1960... the non-Italians can be removed from the list... the more modern cars too... Half of a V12 could be a V6... not the most powerful... corners well... outrageous looks, bits falling off...

Could it be... the 1990 Alfa Romeo SZ??? :)

    Just a guess....

the car we saw at the F dealer during our Maastrich meeting.
It was red, Zagato, ugly, lots of front lights, angularly and ugly.
you spoke to the owner and shot some pics when he drove away.
Sorry, forgot the name of the car.

Since you call it ´The Monster´, I´m thinking SZ as well.

And if that is the case: terrific news. I love that car. One of the few non-Ferrari´s that really appeal to me.

Yep, you guys are too good. Alfa Romeo ES30 or SZ.
Wolfgang...what!! Ugly!!! I don't think Ton likes it either ;)

The design of this car has only two camps and NO middle ground.
You either love it or hate it. You can't NOT have an opinion on the design.
I love it. But the best thing of all is the handling. Wow.

LOL CONGRATULATION my friend! (Sorry, I was just kidding)

I still remember the Maastricht meeting when this AR SZ showed up at the Ferrari dealer. You jumped out of the F dealer (no more interest for the brand new F430) and running around the SZ ithyphallic ;)

    Enjoy your new toy :)

    Thanks everyone.
It only has 15,000kms and looks like new.
I believe the first owner bought it as a investment back in 1990, the car was not registered until 1994 when the second owner bought it with 0kms. I am the 3rd owner.

P.S. Don't worry, those horrible ferrari carpets will go :)
There are some nice fitted Zagato carpets made for the SZ.

Congratulations! I am very happy for you!
The SZ is a very special car. Only 1000 are produced.
Lat G force goes up to 1.3, that is amazing!

    Enjoy her to the max!

    IT IS GORGEOUS!

He just ignores our opinions :(
