I remember back when Toyota entered what is now Sprint Cup and one of the good ole boys here complained about "dem furrin' cars". Until I showed him an article that pointed out that, at that time, the Camry was the only one of the four Cup models whose final assembly line was actually within U.S. borders. That stopped the complaints.....

Consider: Boeing jets have lots of foreign components; Airbus jets have lots of U.S. components. There is no such thing really as "domestic" or "import" anymore.

Remove Canadian components and assembly from the equation and you've got even less American content.

    What's the point exactly?

NASCAR "Cars of Tomorrow" share exactly zero
DNA with their road going counterparts.

Remove the Chevy stickers and valve covers,
replace with Toyota stickers and valve covers,
rinse/repeat, there is nothing more than a
rebranded CoT which is precisely why Dodge
is getting out after this year.

NASCAR has rendered the manufactures irrelevant.

I think some of the stickers are made in the same factory.

all true. do you think a toyota will be able to win a sprint cup championship? or should i say allowed to win a title? they get to win races but not a title.

    truck series does not count.

Do the stickers have to go through the certification process
at the NASCAR technical center as well?

If Toyota wins the championship, their dealers
better brace themselves for the tidal wave of
NASCAR fans that'll be busting down their doors
to buy Camarys the day after Homestead. Ha!

Last I checked, Mexico was part of North America, so why they include Canada, and exclude Mexico is a mystery. Heck, even Brazilian's are Americans to as they live in South America.

The ignorance of a small group of NASCAR fans that don't think them foreign made cars should be in NASCAR is hilarious to read online whenever I come across it.
