Well, I'm getting increasingly irritated by Jonathan Leggard's commentary. First he just can't seem to shut up once in a while, he talks a load of nonsense and most irritating: most sentences he ends on a high note, very annoying. And a lot of times he gets excited over nothing. He should do soccer. Or at least just go away.

I have to admit that, as much as I like Karun Chandhok as a driver, I've been very impressed with his commentary on the BBC broadcasts of the practices lately. The guy has instant recall on a frighteningly dense F1 knowledge database. He knows pre-war Grand Prix, post-war Grand Prix and F1 history and he can actually utilize that knowledge to make a relevant point discussing current events. I sincerely hope that someone at the Beeb is paying attention, because someday his racing career will be over and he needs to become a commentator after that.

He annoys me so much I actually want to punch him square in the face someday. Yesterday, with Hamilton's pitstop, he got incredibly excited about....'this is important, will Lewis get out in front? (bare in mind he had an 8 second lead)...it's looking good...yes....here we go, WILL HE MAKE IT OUT IN FRONT, THIS IS CRUCIAL YEEEEES HE HAS DONE IT! WHAT A WONDERFUL STOP!!!!'

Brundle is a great commentator, he knows what he's on about. He's quite funny as well :D. David Croft and Anthony Davidson commentary is great as well, but either of those along side Brundle for the races and it's unbeatable.

Let Leggard go back to commentating football or whatever he did. He also dumbs down the audience with the same stupid questions every F'in weekend.

I thought it would have been "for sure". I know Martin Brundle likes that one.

    This is the correct answer!
Must be something that comes over as a non-native english speaker, but just about ALL the drivers say this.

    For example -
interviewer: "So tell us how your race went."
driver: "uh.... I mean, it was ok........."

I hear it so much that its become a pet peeve of mine.

25 years ago I'd agree - I think I could live with Madden and Summerall doing a race. And John Facenda doing voice-over.
Howard Cosell in the pits... LOL

But today - Madden - not so much. He's slowing down quite a bit.

All of the great voices we grew up with are leaving us, I am hoping to get to a Dodger game that Vin Sculley does. I understand he only does some weekend games now.

Since I love F-1 too much to watch another "Speed F1 highlights Show" (with all the commercials and cutting out bits to fit a time slot)
I feel sorry for you guys stuck with watching Varsha.
This "lawyer" who has been the US's F-1 main commentator for way too many decades is useless !
He doesn't even follow the sport he is paid to talk about.
    Who cares

BBC is the only way to watch F-1 !!

Karun is an excellent commentator of F1,I just hope they get rid of Anthony Davidson on the BBC practice, this guy loves himself way too much, and doesn't seem to "get-it" half the time......

What a great race at Spa this weekend !

I think Rick DaFool was better than Varsha.

And that's not a compliment to Rick, but an insult to Bob.

Bob is totally and utterly useless. If he isn't incompetent, then he is a moron. He never learns. He has no grasp of what is going on. He knows NOTHING about F1. NOTHING about strategy. He has zero common sense. Zero ability to speak and also keep track of what is going on in the race.

It's a wonder that Matchett and Hobbs don't blow their patience and tell him to STFU. I couldn't take it more than half a race before I told him what an utter, utter chump he is.

I thought this thread would have been about for sure. Here's a link to the "For Sure Championship": http://www.f1network.net/main/s169/st144351.htm

Another pet hate of main is when they start an answer with the word "Honestly". It's something Schumacher did a lot. Are we supposed to assume that unless they start a sentence with "Honestly" they are lieing?
