The videos don't show them eating them. They know how bad they are. I sliced mine up. For two days I've had cocoa hockey pucks on my counter and a house that smells of burning cocoa.

Hmmm... how powerful is your microwave? Just wondering if perhaps the cook time needs adjustment. Mine was firm but wasn't hockey puck firm, and I didn't get any burning cocoa smells either.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Is the oil, 3tblsp, correct? Seems a huge amount for the dry ingredients

Well the better-half just saw this about 8 minutes ago and she showed up with one of these in a coffee mug. Pretty darn nice treat!

She did the version from the video above.

Just eat it out of the cup, but watch grabbing the side of the cup, it is HOT!

OK, back to finishing this bad boy off.

I just used the instructables recipe and only cooked it for 2:30 and it came out great. I used some peppermint cocoa mix so not as much chocolate, but still very good.

This is the link to the website of the video above that list her instructions:

    http://www.instructables.com/id/5-minute-Chocolate-Cake/

I think the key is whisking an egg and measuring out 2 Tablespoons and watching the microwave time vs. your wattage.

She says Microwave for 3 minutes in a 1000w oven, or 4 minutes in a 700w oven.

Mine is 850w so I zapped it for 3:20 and I have to say it was pretty darn good.

How long must the cakes spend in the microwave in order to convert them into a lethal weapon useful for throwing at ducks and neighbors cat (it is rather difficult in Germany to get hands on conventional weapons)?

For some time now cutting edge restaurants in NY have been using microwave cakes as part of their dessert compositions. They get some interesting, tasty results.

So some sick person posted this somewhere the other day and of course I had to try it. Easiest peanut butter cookies ever. Mix one cup PB, one cup sugar, and one egg. Portion, press, and bake at 350 for about 10-14 minutes.

Yep that simple. And yep that good. Bake to a darker brown for crispy or remove when barely brown for a little more chew.

That reminds me... I must try this recipe again to see if I can make it work a little better than it did for Florian.

I suspect, given the power of the modern microwave, that a reduction in the cooking time would be advantageous.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    AFAIK, Florian never did;

    1. Quite forgive you.
    2. Get the burnt polecat smell out of his microwave. [Didn't he once claim he had to replace the whole unit?]

    Eagerly awaiting updated test results........

    Cheers,
    Ian

I’ve tried this too, without goid results. I think you need to know your microwave better than I do mine.

I might try it again... I don't know if it's an ingredients issue or just overpowered microwave issue that's giving the poor results.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

This continues to go about as well as you might expect.

Adding extra milk for moistness was not successful.

    All the best,
    Andrew.
