I saw this new BMW M6 yesterday and it's the first one I have ever seen. I would have taken more photos but the owner didn't get out so I didn't want to take a bunch of photos with him sitting in it.
I really liked the car. The interior had a bunch of carbon fiber and I thought the wheels looked pretty cool too.

Does anyone know if all M6s have Carbon Fiber roofs? And does anyone know why the bottom half of the mirrors are black?

Awesome looking car. I think it's the only currently produced BMW that looks good. Yes, the carbon fiber roof is on all of them. I'm not sure what that is on the bottom half of the mirrors, but I'd guess turn signals. Looks good with the wheels, too, but I like the stock ones a lot.

I like it, but I have yet to see one in person. How was the engine note?

On a semi-related note, I saw a new M-Roadster last night and I had no idea that they were released over here already.

It sounded excellent, but he had an aftermarket exhaust installed. I don't know what a stock M6 sounds like.

I'm not a fan, either -- looks like it weighs 4000lbs. I admire the technology, though.

Seen it in person..........their entire line up is horrid..........sure the technology is great and all that, and I am sure that Roseanne Barr gives a mean hummer.......but would you want to be seen in public with her ?

At first I thought it looked really good, but now in that blue color it looks terrible. Give me a Mercedes anyday over any BMW.

Hate the wheels. That deep-dish look went out in the '70s. Like the car tho, even if it does look a bit porky.

M6 is a respectable car.............but, you'd really have to love BMW to go for one. It is way too big and heavy to be a true sports car. The interior is horrid, as is the SMG gearbox. Do we really need 200,000 suspension, gear, shift speed combinations? Absolutely not. P400-P500, P-500sport? Why would anyone want to turn the power down? People will buy a M6 because it has 500 horsepower. This car in 15 years time with be a nightmare to own when all of the computers decide to crash. The M5 is far more accomplished with all of this tech as compared to its competitors, and as far as sport cars go, the Z06, Porsche 911, or, if you really insist, any of the new 6.3L AMG Coupes make for far better purchases. A nice enough car I suppose but it isn't superlative at anything it tries to accomplish.

OK, just read an edmunds.com road test. I should be a weight-guesser at the Del Mar Fair. The M6 weighs 3900 lbs... that's two Lotus Elises.

I really think Lotus has the right idea, and BMW is losing touch with its roots.

Have any of you guys actually ridden in a new M5 or M6? They haul azz! I don't care how big they are or how much they weigh. They can still smoke just about anything on the road. And the M6 is a much smaller looking car than the M5, so I don't understand how someone can like the M5 better and at the same time say that the M6 is too big.

Actually, the M6 is something like 1 or 2 cm longer and wider than the M5, but with shorter wheel base. When driven back to back, the M6 will be slightly quicker around the track, but there really isn't much difference in terms of pure performance. The M6 has cramped rear seats, less space and more expensive, whilst the M5 offers more space and practicality and similar performance for less money, that's why many people prefer the M5. although i love the M6's look, i would choose M5 as well, i just can't understand why such a significant price premium for 6 over 5

You can see them here often... The new M5 and M6. They don't really hit me anymore. They're not exclusive anymore here, I've you have an M powered car these days, it's a M5 or M6. Wait till the new M3 is launched...

    But still great cars... :)

I'm gonna upload some pics now!
