That's not even a record. My wife broke the arm rest off my 500 sport before I even got it home. 10 minutes out of the dealer lot. That said I love the cars. The Abarth is about the best bang for the buck out there. Quick, fun to drive and oodles of personality. And every gas fill up feels like a pit stop since it only takes 2 minutes to splash in 8 gallons.
You're the man. Would love to take you up on this in a few weeks. Will text or email you directly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i have bought the 500 BIPOSTO .... WHAT A CAR !!!! i have also a scuderia and a gtc4 .... do u believe me that i am using only the Abarth!! is like a small scuderia ... a must Have !!!!
That's great! Post a couple pictures! Around town the abarth is way more fun to drive than any of my ferraris!
I love my abarth, I've had it for 4.5 years, I'll keep it til the wheels fall off, but I don't think snow driving is its strongest suit. Even with winter tires (pirelli snowcontrol) I find it quite demanding to drive on slippery pavement. Epic understeer but very twitchy at the same time. Maybe it's the very short wheelbase.
I bought a 2004 Vibe GT in 2006 with 24k miles. Clutch made it to 168k. Just crossed 200k miles. It's been the most reliable daily car I've had. That said I've been eyeing the Abarth lately... need to drive one. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

This 695 is carbon fiber everywhere , top sound and progression of speed, nothing similar compare to the 595 abarth
If there are any Los Angeles Abarth or 500 owner's looking to do an ECU tune. I've got Eduard from Pogea Racing out from the 16th of March till the 26th. He's doing tunes for $400 dollars.
So I've owned my 2013 Abarth now for a couple of weeks. It is quite entertaining!! I haven't driven it much since it's still winter here, and I'm only going to drive it on nice days (mostly summer). I have a couple of comments/questions: - It just passed safety inspection, so the ball joints are OK. But boy, this thing sounds "clunky" when going over rough pavement (suspension wise, it almost sounds like ball joints but they check out OK - over regular pavement it sounds just fine). The temperature here has been quite cold. I know the suspension is quite stiff by design, but do cold temp owners experience clunkiness as well? I don't mind it, just want to make sure it's "normal" in the scope of how the Abarth is. - on another very cold day, and a not fully warmed up car in Sport mode - I heard the biggest BANG that sounded like it came directly under the E-brake lever. I figured it was a fairly large backfire in the exhaust (which I must say is quite entertaining!!!) - but that one bang scared the crap out of me and my passenger, lol.. There was nothing on the road, and nothing ripped off my car Has anyone else experienced that? It must have been a perfect combination of cold motor, right revs, and ambient conditions. Lastly - I found a used Magnetti Marelli ECU piggy back and pedal power kit that I'm considering.. I know that there are other options out there, but I wouldn't mind having the MM version "if" it's any good. I've read good and bad about it. I can get the units for ~$600CAD. Not that I really "need" to have more power, but hey.. why not, right? Is it worth it? I like that it can be easily removed (or defeated) as opposed to an ECU flash. Thanks!! so far I'm loving this thing!
Cold suspension knock is extremely common to all 500's and is usually the jounce bumpers. Once it gets warmer, the noise typically goes away. The problem manifests itself when temperatures hit close to 0 and typical symptom would be a loud knock or bang when the car is fully compressed. There is a service bulletin for that part if you're still under warranty. Fiat Technical Service Bulletin 02-002-13: Cold Weather Noise From Front End Over Bumps This bulletin involves replacing both left and right front jounce bumpers. MODELS: 2012- 2013 Fiat 500 NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built prior to March 7, 2013 (MDH 0307XX). Issues: Owners may experience a noise from the front of the vehicle while going over bumps which may be more noticeable in colder temperatures. http://www.fiat500usa.com/2014/07/fiat-500-tech-bulletin-updates.html
A sudden application of the brakes by ESC (when not disabled) during a yaw incident or break in traction will also produce a loud sharp clunk.
A piggyback is definitely easier to remove. However, it's more of a general tune vs it being done custom or specific to that vehicle.
Thanks for the link and info - I figured that it would be something like top mounts - not that big of an issue as I won't be driving in the cold really. The car is out of warranty - and most likely why I was able to get such a good deal on it. Either way, I'm able to fix this stuff myself and that link is VERY handy. Thanks! I agree - I'm trying to negotiate a better deal on the unit(s) - I figure that it'll put an even bigger smile on my face. I couldn't really find any dyno results for the MM piggy back ECU. I'm curious how much power it really makes. Thanks - I've experienced that on other cars, but that feeling is quite different compared to what I'm hearing. My noise is mechanical in nature, and strut mounts sound like the cause - now that I think about it, my X1/9 does the same thing.. not much has changed in 40 years I'm patiently waiting for warmer weather and fun times.
