Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!! I can't wait to find one one day. Congratulations and thanks fo sharing!!
I love it Mr Sweden, is that the Saratoga top? If it is, there's only a few of us that has one. Congrats that just awesome. Now you need to complete the set like I did here http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=309836&highlight=Saratoga+Targa+top and get a pouch made, look at post #54
Hi Mike. Yes it is an Saratoga top. It was found in a Ferrari workshop and the mecanic called me and asked me if I would like to buy it. You think I said ;-)
To day i got an offer for the glas roof ( It is not for sale ) for 2000 US-Dollars for it. I did not know that it could race that kind of money. // Mr Sweden
Oh yes, I think "in the day" they were $700 -800USD. Now commonly change hands around $1200USD from what I have seen. As they are not replacable without much search, I think you did the right thing in turning $2K down! "Let the Sunshine in"......I hearing that '70s song in my head, now...thanks for THAT! LOL! I have the glass roofs in my TransAm..nice for a change from my GTBs.
Apparently, they are pretty scarce over here, so they fetch big money. I'd love to get one for my 328, but not at those prices.
It's true, Saratoga did made a lot of this for the different cars but I think not so many for the 308/328
Anyone know if Saratoga the company is still around? I wonder if someone could do another run of these.
I did a search online and could not find the Saratoga company anywhere. The best thing is just to search for the top online, they do pop up every no and then.
If I remember correct there was also a Europe company that did glas roof´s in the 80:ts, but they had nothing to do with Saratoga. Anybody remember they name? // Mr Sweden
