The New Knight Rider...

No big whoop. It's only 550 hp and weighs a ton (actually 2 1/2 tons). The C6Z06 will blow it's doors off. And the ZR1 when it comes out will eat Cobra for a snack. Personally, I hate these remakes of old TV shows. Just goes to show how desperate they are for ideas that they have to keep recycling the old ones.

 

Yes but the z06 and ZR1 can't drive themselves or have "turbo Boost" to jump over small buildings. Don't come standard with ejection seats either.

 

2.5 tons ?? How come ?? Do they have a recording studio on board ?

 

So who's supplying Kitt's "Brain"???
Apple, Intel, AMD?

How does Kitt get past the WGA? Does Kitt have an iPhone hack?
Will Kitt handle DRM?

Can I rent Kitt from GDC?

Geez man. They aren't trying to race the car against anyone or claim it to be the fastest. I think it looks 100 times better than any vette, and no vette can DRIVE ITSELF!!!

 

I agree, it does look better than a Vette, even if it is slower in real life. Given the choice, I think I'd take a Shelby 500GTKR (or better yet, Super Snake) over a Z06, even if it is a lesser car -Vettes are great, but not as cool IMHO.

Love the body kit and the mat stripes.

Don't know how I feel about this show... Used to watch the old one when I was a kid -- back when "the Hoff" wasn't yet "the Hoff".
But guess we'll have to see.

KITT is voiced by Val Kilmer this time I read...

 

Car looks good. I can not wait to see a KR in person.

 

Apparently VAL KILMER got the gig after the season was already shot. The original "new" voice of Kitt was done by Will Arnett of Arrested Development. But it turns out he is under exclusive contract with General Motors. (useless trivia)

 

I've got the show already set in my DVR. Looking forward to it, hopefully it doesn't suck. **cough**Bionic Woman**cough**

 

There is no doubt in my mind that KITT should have been a blacked out C6Z with the light going in the front scoop. Obviously the GT500 does not weigh 2.5 tons and is not all that slow for what it is, but I think a black C6Z is a more true representation of both the original and a more appropriate American car. To each their own.

First episode is on now (NBC, 9-11pm).
In the first 5 minutes...there were 5 half-naked girls, a girl-girl, and a guy and 2 girls... OMG...What people do to sell a show.
Story line though is actually good so far...

 

I'm really enjoying it so far, the part with the police woman and whoever that girl was in her bed was very nice.

 

I'm watching Knight Rider, as it sounds like a few others are. Does anyone else think this entire movie is just a 2 hour Ford infomercial?

It's a series... so the show will be on regularly.

 

From what I was told it was a Movie to test the waters to see if it will be a show. If not successful it will just remain the movie. I am eager to see what happens.

 

Awesome first episode. Loved it.

 

Oh I remember them ALL! They were not half bad but series wise was not going to work. I am eager to see what happens here though.

 

I thought the Jay Leno interview was good, they showed that Kitt really IS remote controlled, NOT a camera trick on the show.
I still miss the old show though. It's hard to accept remakes. Maybe it will grow on me though.
