What matters is when the wheel moves vertical there is enough movement at the shock end of the pull-rod. The amount of movement a modern pull-rod can transmit will always be less than a push-rod with this modern high nose design.

I don't believe the angle between the top wishbone and pull-rod make any difference. When I get time I will do some sketches ... maybe I'll prove myself wrong :). Have a look at this site: Viva F1 » Ferrari?s Clever Suspension. They do say this though: The overall result is that the deflection of the rockers is actually not that different from if they’d used push rods at 30°. Unfortunately they have not created a schematic for a push-rod, so I've made a comparison picture and I have to admit the delta due to suspension movement seems similar. Case closed, I'm wrong.

Scarbs thinks the RB9 is still class of the field...

I'll hold off until I see more 'stuff' on RB9 which will probably be shown in Barcelona.

These guys really don't know anything and spout off whatever. Class of the field my ass, it might be, but this test is about making sure your car doesn't do a Mercedes, rather than about going fast. Coupled with the fact that almost everyone has lots of new parts coming, there's no way to tell who is the team to beat right now.

I think Scarbs does know a thing or two more than we do. He's normally fairly close with his analysations in any case.

Adrian Newey himself doesn't know if their car is the class of the field much less some journalist. To call any car the class of the field at this stage is retarded, at least wait till the last test.

Most teams don't even have the new parts on the cars!

Is the paint a blue/purple color shifting paint, or are the purple sections just painted that way? It's hard to tell in static pictures...
