Excellent! Great to see young girls racing and spending quality time with their father.
My daughter is 3 now and I'm trying to get her into cars and eventually karting.

Well, I used to race 80cc shifters and a couple of 125cc shifters back in Texas and I'll add something here. Just make sure they're having fun, and that should be the sole focus of their racing. Unfortunately while I was racing I witnessed many a father push their kids for something they wanted or wished they could have done. I've even seen a grown man berate his poor son, who could have been no more than eight, for not winning. I think the little guy was in the top five or something. It was so bad the son crying, saying how bad he'd tried and the father just kept yelling at him. The last I heard before I was pulled away was "STOP CRYING, WINNERS DON'T CRY!"

That certainly was an acception. Most of the mothers and fathers were friendly and very supportive of their children but no matter how well they seemed to do there always seemed to be pressure from some parents who were footing the bill. It can sometimes be a fine line between support and pressure and I have no doubt there were some parents who had no idea that they may have crossed that line and that if they'd known would have been more than happy to back off and just let their kids compete and focus on having fun. The red mist can affect those off the track as well as on.

Trust me if your kids are competitive they won't need any extra motivation from anyone else. :) A happy racer is a fast racer. Take it from Heir Schumacher, if it gets to a point where they're not enjoying it anymore it's time to stop and find something they really like.

Congratulations to your son! It sounds like he’s having a good time.

I did meet women on the track; more in the States than in Europe, but I’ve never met mother and son. Do you know of any?
And Moms will always be Moms. To tell you honestly; sometimes I worry about my son so much that I find every excuse not to take him with me if I know that it will not be a safe and well run establishment. I do not like “open to public” tracks where you find a van driver who wants to “show you how to drive” and cuts your Ferrari.
Our problem on the North-East is that all the tracks are closed for winter. Now, my son and I are waiting for the spring and dreaming of the next time together on the track and in the meanwhile we can view and discuss the pics of the last summer.
Good luck to all of You and your Sons and Daughters on the track.

Clearly, he is going flat-out in this picture. Look at his right leg; It's completely straight!

Better re-inforce that throttle mechanism OR you could always just put a turbo on it...
